Yesterday my friend Gary brought his Little Walter w/12" black widow over.
We spent all afternoon playing through it, from a Les Paul w/P-90s, to an old Bruno Conqueror lap steel, and my home made lap steel.
What a great sounding, and 'feeling' amp.
Picking harmonics of the lap steel and letting them ring out, it has just the purest bell like tone. The harmonics rang out together without stepping on each other, and then the decay was so smooth, just a nice even fade...really well designed tube circuits have these results.
While I do own some BW speakers and I do like them, they sometimes seem a bit unfocused to me, like they impart a tiny bit of something to the sound that takes away part of the intimacy of the amp, if you know what I mean.
In this application, I felt no separation from the sound, and I must say I am really impressed with the combination of the Little Walter and the Black Widow.
Now, how do I convince the wife that I
need one of these amps???
