Handling a PSG

I have always carried my Pedal Guitars all setup out of the case.
Like Ray Montee, I put it in the van standing up against the back Bedbench seat and put a pillow between it and the back door.

It is easy to load and unload.It does not move. When I used a Car, I always had one with a big trunk, and lay it down on a movers quilt blanket.

I take the back legs off to close the trunk lid.
When I get to the job, just screw the back legs back on and carry it in.

But as I said the Van is nice to have, I have had various Vans for the past 30 years. Very Handy......al

Thanks, Brian, I would enjoy that. I sent you an e-mail. There aren't many steels to try out up here in the (relative) North! A forum member has one for sale, too!

I'll have to catch you at those venues, or any other you may be at. I know where both of those are.

Surprisingly, the bridge blocks of most all pedal steels do not extend up far enough to protect top surface of the pulling fingers should the guitar be laid upside down (.080" would do it). Tuning keys and the nut assembly are easily removed and replaced, but the changer isn't.

It's not as serious an engineering flaw as tuning keys that bang together when you turn them, but it's a flaw, nevertheless.
