OKAY! Tommy White,be affair to respond to me or was you told the same thing like others in the behind office not to engage with me. I get it. Politics at it's best. All this is showing up all the times about you big time Musicians. That's why so many won't answer the truth on here or any where. Sad & a shame folks have to live this way,but,they do. I still stand by my words about you anyway. Thank you Tommy White. With all the power heads that I'm trying to get our neighborhood History here in Southern California back from ( ACM - Board ) where it really came from in the first place, us Musicians & in the right order of these folks. Tommy, I believe that old blue push pull you owned was one of the best sounding guitars I ever heard. To my knowledge it is still here in Missouri and the guy will not part with it. Duane Danard had your blue Emmons when I took his place with the Clay Campbell Show. That guitar would ring like a bell. Duane didn't have to play much to sound good, the guitar did all the magic. Duane sold the guitar to the guy here in Missouri.

I suggest to anyone who has never seen Tommy White play at the Steel Guitar Convention to go see him. He will amaze you. When they talk about world class musicians this is one of them.

All things considered, it just doesn't get any better than Tommy.

Someone, back in 1991 came to town spreading words of wisdom and good cheer about this lad named Tommy White. Said he would be the next best thing since sliced bread.....Truer words were never spoken.

I think he went by the pen name of LDG..?

I was glad, through my perusal of youtube, to find these clips....

Great going Tommy.....love your playing and, in my opinion, one of the top acts anywhere!!

i think we all respect tommy and consider him obviously one, if not the, best in the world.

That Wanda Vick is some fiddle player, and she would intimidate many steel players who had to follow her. Not Tommy though, he just picks up the baton and flies off even faster and more fluid. Will we ever see his like ever again? Unlikely, although Nashville habours many of the world's best players with Buck, Paul and Mike. Tommy is pretty well at the top of that particular tree.

He even gives Jerry Douglas a run for his money on Dobro.

I've never heard another player, on any instrument, reference licks from other master players so fluidly like TW. It's almost humorous the way he does it, especially since his own stuff and phrasing is so wicked. It's not a copy or joke, it's something else entirely. It's like a little inside nod for those of us who are addicted to pedal steel guitar. And it always fits so well. I don't know- its praeterhuman to hear and see somebody do that on the fly.

It is scarily praeterhuman, and even tho I agree with Lao 'Steely' Tzu that we shouldn't praise the talented for any reason,
it seems remarkable enough to cite feats of human autonomic engineering, but the way the guy smiles when he comes to the end of the ride,
just like he comes to the end of his post and smiles. Makes me turn all Bill Hankey, even as I remember that praise accomplishes nothing.

But what I get a kick out of is watching the drummer watching White, grinning and slack jawed
after Ms. Vick has gotten the band up to base tempo, warmed up the audience, so to speak.

It's nothing personal. I realize it's not all talent, you must've practiced.

By "other stuff" I was referring to posts by Mr. LJ Eiffert, which I still have no idea what they're about. Now where are those drinks😎

With respect to the topic that I gave to Tommy White and with the other lines to Tommy White, he knows it from a Las Vegas,Nv.short time visit. I'm glad to hear you say that, but it may be the academy who doesn't get that. I'm not sure they even offer it.

Your truly an inspiration. I am thankful for your talent and the venue you have to share it with us all. The are just a few masters of this instrument, and you my friend are one of them. Thanks for sharing your ability with us all.

Yeah, Tommy pretty much takes that "you need a certain brand of guitar to sound good" premise and knocks it on it's ass. His sound is consistently smooth and full, no matter what brand he's playing.
