I found out it is a major job to get the changer out of an early Legrande SKH, more than I want to tackle. I have decided to clean it in situ as they say. A lot of degreaser and a lot of cotton swabs.

You don't have to remove the changer. I turn it upside down. Pour the degreaser on the changer mechanism. When it has drained through, lubricate it with sewing machine oil. Works great for me. I don't have to tune my pedals very often.

Thanks for the suggestion. It has been suggested that I pour the de-greaser down from the top and let the dirt fall out the bottom so you are dripping clean de-greaser through the arbor of the pullers.
