<B>"Carl,
Do you still lower your 2nd string on the RKR?"</B>
Frank,
Interesting you should ask. The answer is YES. But there is MORE to the story. I have two RKR's!
My regular RKR is the ole pedal 6 (C6)
RKR2 lowers 2 a whole tone, raises 9 a whole tone and lowers 12 a whole tone.
Incidently there is NO half stop on RKR. But LKL2 lowers 2 a half tone. (Along with raising 9 and 10 a tone and a half). So I have either the D OR the C# on different knee levers on opposite knees. I cannot begin to tell you how wonderful this is. I thought it would be nice. It has exceeded my desires greatly. I would never go back to a half stop after having the luxury of both.
The ONLY thing I would ocassionally want (and do not have) on this setup; is lowering the 2nd string to a C# while using the equivalent 6th pedal on RKR.
I DO have it when in the LOK position. Which is one case in which I use the LOK. In other words I do NOT lower the 2nd string to C# with the lever (LKR) that lowers the E's. BUT when I engage the LOK lever it DOES lower the 2nd string to a C#.
The reason I don't add this to LKR like Jeff Newman and some other players do, is its simply too stiff for my tastes.
Thanks for asking,
carl
