Edward Rhea wrote:That shobud is a permanent model. The lack of "gumby" style keyheads suggest it was built late mid 1970's or later? I'm no expert..maybe they'll chime in. :D
There are at least 3 of Eddie's posts that say he is "no expert", "I'm new myself" ect. He's trying to help a fellow newbie, not trip him up, and now he got his head ripped off for it. He might not be back now.

Try to see the good in his posts. He is trying to help. He has asked that some of you "experts" readjust his information if need be. When it comes down to it, none of us are experts, but some "think" they are by seniority. Let's not discourage anyone, but rather encourage.

Thank you for posting this, James. As a "newbie" myself, I've seen more than enough of those type of responses to begin to second-guess joining the forum. Great information here, wonderful actually. And there are so many helpful players here, who have assisted me (and many others) to no end, so it is sad that a small minority tend to drive people like me away.
Once again, thank you for the encouragement and good advice. I can't speak for anyone else, but I sure appreciate it!

I'm with James. There are people lurking like trolls around here just waiting for an excuse to rip on people. I'd rather read Edward's posts any day.

Thomas - I'd be glad to take a look at these if UK doesn't mean northern Scotland :)

Ian that is honestly ideal! I also live in Redditch! Is there a way we can talk privately about this?

Yes, it's called a Private Message (pm) and if you click on "private messages" at the top of the page you'll find 2 now.

It is rather difficult to identify older instruments from pictures sometimes. Also, when someone with a "find", in an old instrument doesn't hear what they want to about it, they can be resentful of the adviser.

The written word can be cold and harsh without the author meaning to be as well.

Holy S///. I better be careful when I give Mechanical advice on BMI's. I've only worked on three of them. Tennessee Lee

Edward don't worry about Mr. Ivey he lurks around every thread just to jump on people. You stated you were not an expert and we are all entitled to our opinion and shouldn't have to worry about some guy chastising us for everything we say, I stand in your corner so go ahead and help out when asked.
