Great stuff mike - so glad to see u finding new ways to push the straight steel in a new direction. Yes, it is very "cool school" sounding - my personal fav jazz era.
I think there is a clear role for steel in that style as it's so adapted for those moods

I really like the unrushed nature of the song...lots of space. I also dig that it's not about steel guitar playing, it's more focused on the composition.

I've got that tune stuck in my head now. That's a good sign, right? I love the tone of the Clinesmith. What does it sound like with a dirt pedal or overdriven amp? (If that's something you've experimented with)

I really like the spaces left in the song as well. In those spaces the feel of the tune has time to sink in.... very moody .
