I have a Peavy Classic 30, which does fine with low notes. It has the same preamp and effects that a Twin does, just not 200 watts of power. I still have my Peavy Vegas 400, which is a twin version of the Session 400. I've had it since 1983. I used it when I played pedal steel, but da buggah weighs about 50 pounds! Yeah, the Micro Cube is good too for gigs. Easy on the back. The CLEAN setting is excellent too.
My 1953 Fender Triple 8 however really needs the big daddy (Fender Twin or Reverb) to bring out the lower strings.
I've been searching for one of the old Roland Monitors. Hard to find, but the tone is magic.
