I'd have to say that this to me was also the "highlight of the convention". It was wonderful seeing all of the top players at one time on stage. One comment though, all the players did a brilliant job on their respective tunes however, in my opinion (no disrespect to anyone) Johnny Cox had the best tone. I'd never thought of an MSA guitar as having great tone but he had it going. This past Tuesday I stopped by Nashville and attended the Opry and Tommy White was also playing one of the new MSA's. He had a great, clear, sparkling tone on his as well. If they all sound that good I might consider one in the future...........JH in Va.

Jerry,

FWIW, Johnny Cox was playing through a Pod XT right into the front of the amps (twin reverb model)

The Russless set was one of the highlights of my career! I was so caught up in the show I forgot when it was my turn to play!

Laney sang great, as we all knew she would, but she emceed the show with her own natural personality. Her delivery of zingers and one-liners made this one of the funniest things I've ever seen. Before any of us try to do any verbal-sparring with her we had better be on our toes!

I've had so much fun from the very start of this prank I don't quite know what to do with myself now that it's over. However, I think my best defense against retaliation is a good offense!

Randy B., or is it Claude, or Pete, or Harvey, whoever you "feel" you are today,

Regarding your last statement...about "retaliations" and strategic "offensives"...should you begin to feel "shadowed" during your comings and goings about, it's possible that it has something to do with a call I think Russ made today to a private investigator. I asked him if we could really afford to have you "watched" at ALL TIMES, and he said something to the effect that it was either "watch" you or "kill" you........
be careful. Image

It was really hilarious when John Hughey led all the great pickers out to carry Russ off the stage when he learned Alma would not be there.

Yes, Howard,
Russ thought he was in like Flynn with the absence of "Alma".......He said he knew something I didn't know....he was right, because I didn't know he'd leave us no choice but to physically remove him from that stage so that Buddy, (as in "Big E", among his other "aliases")and I could FINALLY debut a "live" performance of the song we "co-wrote" called "A Love Like This/ Nameless Shuffle". Talk about "highlights"...I think I was singing, but I don't quite remember; I was busy listening... Image
