Yes, he normally sells crap. No wonder he thinks his Fry Pan is so valuable! Cool

It's all relative, I suppose. This Lloyd Loar F-5 mandolin is $225,000!

Read the fine print gentlemen:

Quote:
The Guitar Comes in the original hard case as pictured with metal bar and tuning fork.

The tuning fork would explain the price tag. Wink

Yes, but that's a little different... the actual value of that 1924 Gibson Loar mandolin is $140,000 according to the current VGM price guide. So the seller's price is less than double the book value (about 1.6 of book value). But the Fry Pan is priced at about 12 times market value. Whoa!

Looks like the seller finally came to his senses, what fool would pay 45k for a guitar?
I may even consider getting it now that the price is somewhat reasonable.(NOT!)

Mine has "B 174" stamped on and has the octagonal volume knob. I put mine at a 33. Wonder how the serial numbers ran on them. His is 1138 and looks to be identical vintage. Not selling, unless he actually get 35K for it!

If I'm going to pay $45,000 for a Frying Pan, I would like to at least be able to fry my bacon and eggs on it. Laughing Winking

Yes, and a free breakfast for the rest of your life, and your children's lives, and a lakefront cottage with beautiful deck so your could enjoy your breakfasts! Smile

Cracker Barrel has great deals on Frying pans. For a lot less, have one of a kind machined out of a billet or maybe 3D printed.

Hey, here's an offer. For $45,000 I'll build you a brand new frying pan, and I'll even throw in free shipping. Cool
In fact, I'll deliver it to your doorstep at no extra cost, even if you live in the middle of the Sahara Desert. Cool
Now you won't find many deals like that around. Winking

(I will have to ask for payment up front, though.) Rolling Eyes

$18,000 with 2 days to go. I'll give this guy points for refusing to admit defeat. He's probably had tons of email telling him the market value of this Rick...

I wonder what his maximum offer was.

If his previous auctions have been for fossilized dinosaur excrement, as Dale says, I'm inclined to think that he doesn't have the instrument to sell and he's amusing himself playing with the system. Rolling Eyes
