I kinda liked the song. The music sounded perfect for the backroads of hot, sweaty Florida. The lyrics could have used a little more oomph, though.

OK I'll just come right out and say it.
1. It lacked the standard cliché licks.
2. It didn't sound anywhere’s near a P/P.
3. It obviously was sadly lacking in use of pedals and levers. Most noticeably no Franklin Pedal.
4. Last but not least Not a steel guitar train whistle to be found in the whole dang song. What a travesty

I for one am a fan of Kaphan....have a listen to Thomas Dolby's new album....song is titled "17 Hills" with Bruce Kaphan and Mark knopfler playing....I thought it was probably Paul Franklin at first just because of his prior association with Mark but turns out it's Bruce....
It's not always who can play the most notes in the shortest amount of time although that too is a skill that can be appreciated...

If you think Bruce Kaphan can't really play the steel and try to compare him to non-standard country styled players like Garcia....just have a listen to this....and then tell me he hasn't got any chops!
