Laney and I are looking forward to the show and spending some time with Chuck, Shirley, and of course Mr.Bentley....I see Sweeney's mug often enough here in Nashville, but it'll be good to see his sweet thang, Teresa....also a great band this time featuring Jim Hartley on drums...sounds like a large time to me. Image They oughta be hangin from the rafters...see ya'll there.

This is a show I've been looking forward to for a long time. Chuck, thanks for asking me to be a part of things, I always enjoy my visits with you and Shirley. Folks, you just gotta love a couple who spends their honeymoon and their first anniversary at a steel guitar show. That's gettin' things started on the right foot.

Speaking of anniversaries, Cindy and I will be celebrating our anniversary that week so I might even let her go with me. Yep, if we make it till then, that'll be 29 years.

Pat, tell your drummer not to play a job the day after his knee surgery. I'll tell you at the show how I know that's not a very good idea.

See ya soon,
Jim

I 'm going to check my schedule and see if we're open that weekend. If so Sandy and I may be able to come down from N.J. It will be nice to see Laney and whats-his name also.

Okay Lawson.....surely you know that without ol 'whats his name', Miss Laney would sound like, let me think a minute, like Connie Smith without Weldon, Loretta Lynn without Hal, the list goes on and on....at least 'she' knows that if she gets out of line I wont even let her sing on my set...no, that wont work, because Chuck will probably give her a set of her own like the last time...where's his loyalty....and if I refuse to play on her set, Sweeney would no doubt double cross me and take my place, like he and all those no-names did on her last CD.....oh well, maybe she'll be nice between now and May and I won't have to break bad on her.
I guess I should fess up as to why I'm a little upset......seems all this week sessions are going on at Buddy Spicher's studio....some of the old A-Team are doing a project on some big shot European singer, players like Pete Wade, Jimmy Capps, Gene Chrisman Buddy Spicher, and others....so last night the producer called, I thought to book me on steel, but no, he was calling to see if Laney would come in, at the artists request, to sing a duet with him. when I asked who was playing steel he said Buddy Emmons, of course. So, you see why she may be hard to live with for a while.....woe is me, but I'll get over it. Image
