Jerry, you are truly one of a kind, dude! I know what kind of work you do to make this show happen, and I'm proud to call you my friend, as well as my Brother! I sure hope I can make the show!

Stephen,
That's what it's all about. The good Lord blessed me with way yonder more talent than I deserve. I have no problem using it to help a child. I have seen first hand what these hospitals can do and what they accomplish with the money they are given. From the smallest gift of a pop top of a drink can to a large donation it all makes a difference in a childs life. As a Brother of the Fraternity you understand what it all about. I thank all who don't mind dropping a dollar in that Shriners bucket when they see him on the street. I, as you guys in S.C., try to use the opportunity of putting music with the cause. Of all the clubs, civic organization and groups, I think the steel guitar players and the musicians who support them help us raise more money than any other group anywhere. My hat is off to all you guys and I personally thank you with all my heart. Stephen I look forward to seeing you in Feb. at one place or the other in Ga. or S.C. Thanks for your help.

Roger and Frank,
I appreciate what you have pledged. I will gladly take the donations and put them in with all the rest of the money that we will raise. There is no such thing as to little. Thanks guys.
I guess this event is too far away to get a lot of attention on the forum at this time. Maybe we will draw more attention as the date gets closer.
Just as a reminder we have a great line up of player and I hope you will mark your calander to attend. Looking forward to a music filled day.

Many have ask how to get to the Shrine Temple.
If you are coming from the West on
I-20, follow I-20 and take I-75/85 North. Exit to the right at International Blvd, stay right and follow to the first traffic light. This will be Boulevard. Turn left on Boulevard, stay on Boulevard until you come to Ponce de Leon. Turn left on Ponce de Leon go approx. two blocks, the Yaarab Shrine Temple will be on the right. The address is 400 Ponce de Leon, Atlanta, Georgia.

If you are coming down I-85 South, I-75 and 85 will merge stay on I-85/75 south and exit at North Avenue. At the top of the ramp turn left onto North Avenue. Go through two lights. At the third light turn left go one block, turn right, this will put you on Ponce de Leon Avenue. Take Ponce de Leon, you will pass a Krispy Kream Donut place on the right, go around the cruve and the Yaarab Shrine Temple will be on the left.

The Shrine Temple has a large black fence across the front of the property, it hard to miss. I believe you will recognize the building.

Hope to see you there.

If anyone needs other directions please contact me.

I think Bill meant "because" Russ Hicks is coming! I think I'm gonna file my picks like Russ does and see if it makes me sound like him! There is a map on the GaSGA site www.georgiasteelguitar.com under upcoming events if you need one. If you can't make the show but would like to send a donation for the kids, Jerry has his address posted above. I guarantee it will make you feel good to donate.
See Ya There,
Roger

With the talent we have in and around the Atlanta area you know we can have a great show, but just think about adding John Hughey, Russ and Laney Hicks, Randy Beavers, Larry Sasser, Herby Wallace and Rob Parker to that. If you don't make the show just think where all you will have to go to see each of them. Take the time to check out the line up. I think you will like it. see ya soon I hope.

5 Weeks to go. Everybody start digging in the pockets and save your quarters to support Jerry's kids.

Should I send new flip flops to Montgomery so Bill Cook can make it over?? Image

Hello Jerry
Other than the information here on the forum and whats on the GA Steel Guitar website I was wondering what you thought about making a flyer and distributing it to the music stores in and around the Atlanta area? I have come up with an idea, but I would like to discuss it with you before I proceed any further. If your schedule permits, I was wondering if you could call me this evening at (770)819-1808 so I can discuss my idea with you.

Hello Ronnie:

I sent you an email to get one of those flyers. I know some folks in the Hahira/Valdosta who might be interested in coming the steel show. In my opinion, I think every music store within 50 miles of Atlanta should have a copy of that flyer. I have already told some people that I know about the steel show and they have expressed an interest in being there. Take care and have a wonderful and blessed evening.

Charlie,
I am so sorry to hear that you've been under the weather - especially considering it was a heart attack! I had no idea. I do hope things are improving for you, and that you're feeling much better. We look forward to seeing you in February if not sooner.
Big Hugs,

Charlie,
I too am sorry to hear of your heart problem. I hope you are doing well. I am looking forward to seeing you and hearing you play this year. We only have four more weeks until the show. I hope we have a good turn out and raise a lot of money for the Shriners Hospital. I do appreciate all the steelers for their talent and time they are giving to this cause. I also appreciate our great back-up band. I am looking to have a good time.

Jerry
