Bo, that's the nuttiest thing I ever heard. Lock it, tune up, don't unlock it! I though the things were so simple they didn't need an operator's manual, but I guess not. And I did have a Tele with a Warmoth 1" "boatneck" with their double truss rod, and if I put 11 - 52's on there I might not have to tune it for a few days at least. Schaller locking tuners...

And I'm sure the locking tuners came out as a response to the problems raised by Floyd Rose and Kahler extreme whammy bars. They started off with the very early Roses having no locks, then they came up with the locking nuts and everybody said "They kill tone!" so they invented locking tuners. And then Eddie and the gang began using locking nuts, and all of a sudden they were cool. Ah, 1980's hair-metal tone with the early rackmount digital processing... who could forget?

That's right, Bent...one broken G# .011 since may, and changing the string was much easier on the pedal steel than than on my Gretsch w/ a Bigsby tailpiece. Lets file the ergonomic aspects of your brass fingers under intelligent design!

I didn't ask for, want, knew of or knew they came with the guitar and I had no clue how the locking tuners worked. I had no idea what they were trying to achieve with the locking system. The mechanics are not visible and there was no information related within the packaging.
Yes it needs at least a Hype and a How to note.
I shouldn't have to spend time on something I don't want learning by trial and error how you string it up and use it etc.
Even the locking strap on this guitar as simple as it is can be impossible till you figure it out.
A little Hype and How to on that as well should have been included for the impatient.

String that puppy up right! I think you'll like the results! Wish I had a better camera! Blurry pic! If you look closely, you can see that the wound strings don't even make one complete wind around the post. The un-wound strings make full wind, or even a little more.
