If a person can develop lung cancer and all sort of breathing problems from smoking cigarettes, how can you be exempt from the same problems with pot?

Ron, I'm not Charles, but,

Now if it's possible to separate the two, let's get back to Willie - the rest doesn't matter.

I failed a drug test from just being on the bus. Lucas is using one of Willie's older ones and he is following a family tradition. (It is rumored)

I know that Willie, Merle, and Ray use vaporizers. I'm not a smoker so I don't really know how it works, but I heard Merle explain it, somehow it actually helps their throat and you don't get the hot harsh smoke going directly down your throat or lungs.
Some eastern cultures have been using forms of a vaporizer, or water pipes, to smoke stuff for about 6,000 years, so I guess it must work.

They keep raising the price of cigarettes to discourage people from smoking and then they want to legalize pot. I find something wrong with this picture.

I don't have to prove anything Any of you that MAY be a doper will never change anyway. One of the last funerals I attended was a friend I had worked off and on for years,He NEVER smoked a cigerette, pipe, cigar,or used reg tobacco of any kind.He was a heavy pot smoker,He died of lung cancer. His kids sure did'nt think their daddy was very cool for being a pothead when he was lowered him into that sixfoot hole.If anyone wants to make a complete imbecile of themselves in front of the world, just keep saying [POT SMOKING IS NOT HARMFUL.] If you are stupid enough,go ahead and take another toke.

It will drive you to an early grave if you worry about everything that people say will kill ya. Ain't no one gonna make it out alive.
So just enjoy life, don't worry!!!
Oh ya and don't eat eggs, cause now "the experts" claim they are just as dangerous as smoking!!!!

It's obvious to all non-smokers, that anything you smoke is not natural, and is going to have health consequences. You pay the piper and you call the tune.
I always assumed that Willie Nelson would go on for ever. Willie has probably thought the same way.
If it's any consolation, George Burns smoked cigars and lived to be 100. He was eventually brought down by a slip in the bathtub, which broke his hip, from which he never recovered. Such are the mighty fallen...

I would not consider myself a cannabis smoker, since I probably only indulge once a year. I know it's not good for me--that's why I gave all that stuff up. I've been into running now for nine years. But go back 30 years ago and I was a regular smoker for quite a few years.
The vaporizers are interesting, but they still will make you cough. There is a little bit of smoke in there with the vapor. Almost feels like you're receiving medical treatment, though--it's bizarre.

For the sake of comparison, let's say that eating one egg is as bad for you as smoking one cigarette.
Some smokers go through 3 packs of cigarettes a day, that is 60 cigarettes.
How many people do you know who eat 60 eggs a day?
I really think you'd do less damage to your body by your egg eating than your smoking.

how bout them daily commuters sitting in freeway gridlock 5 days a week?
...how bout....oh never mind.

Did the doctors conclude it was caused by pot, or are you coming to your own conclusion?

Pot is a fairly good treatment for folks with wasting diseases. It grows it grows naturally in the ground. It does not have to be cooked like cocaine or methamphetamine. research shows that it is better if is it is eaten. just because it is illegal, doesn't mean that it's necessarily bad for you.
We should probably not let this veer in a political vain. It's about Willie Nelson's health.....
Btw I haven't indulged for 20 years,but I don't think pot should be outlawed. Alcohol should !

The criminalization of weed was a big $$$ self-interest scam perped by those wanting to stymie the multi-beneficialities of hemp, and demonizing pot was another brick in the wall towards those goals. Rockefeller wanted oil instead of alcohol, hence prohibition, and Hearst wanted timber $$$ for his paper mills, hemp is better at both... bye bye hemp and pot.
People like Willie know these things, most Americans don't, and too many don't want to know.

A friend told me a story of at a session a heavy hi-octane smoker indulged in some of Willie's, and it zombiefied the smoker. I guess Willie has a high tolerance and gets, and deserves, the best. The thing I don't like about smokers is that a lot them seem to loose ambition to get up and do things, but some seem fine. I have seen a lot of alcohol fueled fights, and nice people become total a@#h*%&s when they are drunk, but that doesn't seem to happen with pot...maybe smokers loose the ambition to be a@#h*%&s. It certainly can not be good to hold smoke in your lungs, but neither can it be to breath 24/7 in L.A.'s diesel death zone. What I find silly is how righteous the war on drugs, D.A.R.E., and all of that is that lumps getting high into one monolith of death, addiction, and evil, yet the pharmaceutical industry pushes Prozac and the like on people, and even seems to invent abstract conditions like crowd anxiety and restless leg syndrom that people must medicate themselves for. That stuff can't be good for your liver, kidneys, and brains. I think in the long run, it's probably healthier for people to unwind after work by slamming a beer, drinking a martini, or smoking a joint, rather than medicating themselves with anti-depressants, but to each his own, and find what you need to be a naturally happy person.
