Doug, you're talking about not getting to practice, well my friend, I still have the same strings on my steel that I had last year. I will wear my gloves tho, to keep me from sawing my fingers off on those sawblades. By the way, Elizabeth & I got those giant hot dogs already and they're ready for the cooking. Also, my first song will be "way to survive" dedicated to me.

Hey all... Teresa Henderson (Scotty's wife) here... we are so excited about coming down. Scotty is playing tonight in Osage Beach just to get ready for the show! I am home putting a few things together for the trip.. and just can't hardly wait for morning to come so we can get in the car and go! We are bringing a couple of good friends and wives with us, just to let them see what great friends and musicians we have in the great state of Kansas! Dave Owens is a wonderful bass player and Ronnie Blecher is a great drummer. I think they are going to help Scotty "WOW" the crowd on Saturday. Can't wait to see all of you. I am sure your Friday night show was a great success. See ya tomorrow! Save a Hot Dog for us!

Lee.....I know what you mean by not being able to sleep!!Ray and myself came home and were so wound up that we wanted to dance. You guys that played yesterday evening did an awesome job and rocked the house and the back-up band was the greatest!!! Douglas Hudson did "Give Me A Mountain" again and those of you that have never heard him do that song "WOW" says it all!! Well we are going to have somemore of the greatest playing going on today(Sat.)and Sunday and ya'll try to come and enjoy the fun with us.Free chilie hot dogs and lots more on the house.Homemade goodies too

Sat. part of the show is over. It's been a great time. The back up band is some of the best musicians I've ever heard. The steel playing was awesome. The fellowship with fellow steel lovers was great. These words don't really describe what took place today.

There was also a special award given to Fred Justice before he started playing his set at the KSGA show and that was the "Robe" he had coming to him,heehee.....if you look on page one of this thread under posts by:Bill Myrick & Tim McCutchen you can see why the robe
....
Tim, you sure did some great playing at the KSGA show and we really enjoyed your sets.Fred Justice left a trail of smoke like usual when he left the stage.Probably one of my favorite entertainments was the Sat.night jam. That's when the house rocked and Baxter Springs woke up if they were already asleep. We had 2 keyboards and 9 steel guitar's play together one song all at once
The chair I was sitting in was even vibrating!! How does that song go,"Oh What A Thrill".....Later guy's & gals,it's been fun

Elizabeth, thank you for your nice comment. I had a great time. You guys put on such a great show and it's such a family type atmosphere. I always enjoy this show. I met some new friends this year. I had a great time visiting with new friends Mike McGee,Kurt Graber, and Tom Cravens. Thank you KSGA for that good Kansas hospitality.
