It would be good to be able to post audio and video clips directly onto the Forum, like you can images. Then a database of clips could be gradually accumulated. But it's Bobby Lee's Forum, and I can see why he wouldn't want to have to vastly increase the storage requirements.
The problem of storage websites is that your posts can be removed without their mentioning it if few people access them.

Right now I can tell when there's a big picture-laden post active... the server bogs noticeably for me, even if I'm not the one looking at the pictures.
If we could all link to our pictures (flickr, etc) then we could still post them but our servers would not take the bandwidth hit. Video would be way too much... sound, not so much.

I like your band, Brad. Some strong elements of Klezmer in there. Thanks for posting it.

I agree with you. I have run into the same situation. I posted a link to something of technical musical background rather than a song and the idea of having to find a host beforehand was nearly puttin me off. Fortunately, I have my own small private space where I uploaded the file, but I may not leave this there forever if I run out of space.
Filehosters usually throw out files if they are not accessed often enought and/or if you stop paying.
On the other hand, BobĀ“s server might be the one that is filled up with potential garbage, I acknowledge this problem too.
Hmm.

The forum is already using over 50% of its allotted monthly bandwidth and i think there is a good chance this will reach much higher once the fall and winter kick in. For the forum to host audio and video files would require much greater bandwidth.
