I was touring with my band these days and wasn't able to join that lucky team of steelers:( Maybe next time, July and August are the busiest months for me thought. Should be glad to see a DVD if it will be available for others. And it's really good to know that there are so many steel players in neighbour country!

Brimming over from a record info dense seminar, but will digest it 'til the next one with the help of the DVD from the seminar. This was an extremely good and beneficial seminar, very well performed by Mickey.

You're really very, very kind, Mickey - I do appreciate it! We all do, I'm sure.
There's a special spirit in the steel guitarist community - ain't it?
I'm gonna restart palying again after well over a year off, and I will sure have to call for some help now and then.
I hope that we can arrange an annual seminar, but that depends on how many pickers we can gather.

Mickey : Why didn't you invite me to f;y over the Big Pond with you; to take the fine Seminar in with all those fine Swedish Steelers. I'll bet you were on Cloud Nine all the entire two days. Congratulations , MAN. Just think, now you can take over the great jest for doing Seminars here on our soil, too. I attended a couple of Seminars given by Jeff Newman, back a few years ago. And I am certain that every one you do will be fabulous.. Keep up the good work, my friend..Cheers..Bernie :whoa: :whoa: :whoa:

I was at Morgan Johansen's steel seminars in Langesund in southernmost Norway with Jimmie Crawford, Jeff Newman, Scotty and Herbie Wallace, but Mickey's was by far the most information dense of them all. Herbie, Jimmie and Jeff also taught some C6, but Mickey's extended E9 also contains considerable amounts of C6.
In Langesund they had little booklets with the most important parts noted, and that’s a good help to remember the teachings. A DVD from Mickey’s seminar is being put together right now and will be available very soon, and that’s an even better memory support than a booklet, I think.
Jeff was a really humorous entertainer and a way better picker than I expected, but they all were mighty good, and Mickey also is at a professional level. So I think that they all are comparable. In any case they all know more than enough to push us a mile forward during a seminar.
The most memorable lessons were the ones I got from Terry Crisp in his home in Mt Juliet outside Nashville some 20+ years ago. Terry is a monster picker and after his lessons I believe in spending time with the masters as a way to gain skill without own efforts. Something truly magical happened there. I'm still thankful for Terry's teaching, so a big Thank You if you read this, Terry!
