If we buy copies, they are not supporting the authors and artists with royalties. If we buy used instructional materials there is a sentiment that the seller should support the author as well. I guess this doesn't aply to non-members

Got word that this guy is still at it. If so..... im sure the people at the "nursing home" and the other charities he claims to support must be doing well by now. Think of all the widows that he is helping.....wait wait wait....isnt Fran Newman a widow? Isnt she still selling Jeff's materials for her income? A little competition never hurt though right? Its only one single copy right? If youre doing business with him that must leave a warm feeling in your heart.

Ron offered me a full set of "vintage Emmons" legs recently when I was actually seeking something other than a full vintage set. He implied that I didn't know much about vintage Emmonses, or their parts and where to find them (?!!
).
I declined his offer, because I simply didn't need what he was trying to peddle to me. I then received an excoriating letter about how I bought the line of BS being spread about him on the Forum and I will be the lesser for it.
In reply I ignored that part and simply told him that a full set of vintage legs was not what I was seeking or what I wanted to pay for. I thanked him for his offer and let it go at that. That was the end of that particular conversation.
I consider myself having dodged a bullet. I've been screwed twice by guys on the Forum due to having ignored red flags and warnings. I didn't want to risk a third time.

Yes ,he is still at it.I got caught by this dreadful person.A real nasty piece of work.I should have know better but I gave him benifit of doubt because of the integrity of the steel guitar comunity and he has abused that to his miserable benit. He was selling copy right material. The worst part is that Pay Pal refuned his refund to me and unfortunately I had some money in my Pay Pal account. My fault for not reading Pay Pals term and conditions.I learnt a valuable lesson relitivly cheaply.

He came close to my WTB last week. Sent me a demo or something like it of Sylvia's Mother with a (not very good) vox in C. He then said it was the original key. The Dr. recorded it in A. But not usable as a rhythm track for recording

When I had just started he tricked me into buying those 1200 backing tracks...he actually messaged me through youtube. A bunch of the tracks already had steel guitar on them so what good was that? He also told me his wife was very sick and he needed the money. I guess he was making that up? If that's the case that's pretty low to pretend your wife has cancer to sell some backing tracks.

I had dealings a few years ago with this Mr Fraudster, and Like an idiot I trusted him and sent a load of genuine instruction cd in exchange for some steel guitar parts`maybe the same cd`s he is selling copies of, I never did get any parts and could do nothing about it because he was kicked of the forum.
There was another member i used to chat with who has sadly passed away who told me that he was robbed by this prat.
SO BEWARE.
Jimmmy.

Got the 1200 tracks, took a couple months, I was not pleased with the tracks, got no response on several complaints about the tracks.

I ordered a couple of CD's with about 3000 play along tracks on them. Got them no problem. They sound like he or someone else made them, they aren't ripped off from any artist or anything...actually, the quality is pretty good. Some of the song titles are from waaaaay out in left field...but hey, there are 3000 of them...

I think the fellow is from a Finland or Norway or somewhere, at least his handwriting looks like it...as well as his name...

I am glad to hear of satisfactory transactions, but I do think it supports the "family" nature of the forum to register complaints about repeated ripoffs. I suppose I should make it clear I'm talking about any scam artist, as I received an email threat of a lawsuit from Ron yesterday, simply for providing a link to this thread in another thread without mentioning him or anyone by name. Testy...

Any good con man will keep a few patsys in his pocket for his "good" references. This one's certainly got a few on the Steel Guitar Forum.
Shame on those of you who are smart enough to know that you're most likely purchasing someone else's intellectual or copy-written property. And for those of you who are ignorant, it might be in your best interest to wise up, or, at the very least, run the risk of being the fool that's separated from his money.
The fact that he has repeatedly used fraudulent practices in order to sell product via the internet is well documented by myself, and many others on this and several other forums. These are not allegations, they are documented facts.
The scumbag has been threatening to sue people for exposing his fraudulent activities for years. The man's an idiot and obviously doesn't understand what constitutes slander and/or libel. He thrives on attempts of intimidation and scare tactics when confronted with his cons and frauds. There's a sucker born every minute, and there will always be scumbags like him to take advantage of them.
Education and information are our best deterrents to these types of unscrupulous shysters. This Forum, and our communications provides us with the necessary resources to recognize these types of crooks and their supporters.
Don't let the liars and cons stop any of you from reporting the truth. If anyone wants to forward the threatening emails that they have received from this crook,I'd be privileged to add them to my files. This douche is not going away. He'll just keep preying on the newer members and the unsuspecting.
b0b, please add this idiot's name to the sticky of who not to do business with! He's worst than all the others listed combined.
To our most notable con and fraud: Sue me you WPOS.

This man could sell nothing if there was not a market of the same type of individuals to buy his wares. They share the same mentality " something for nothing". Until people wise up and ignore him , he' going nowhere. Actually the fault does not completely lie in his lap, those that buy are as guilty as he is.
JMHO. Happy Steelin'
Fraudster still at it?

Hey Guys, I think this guy may still be at it as I received an email just yesterday from someone identified as K and J Label (
kandjlabel@gmail.com) telling me of all sorts of backing tracks, steel music, etc. available for a mere $100.00 through Paypal. According to his email, he claims I had previously contacted him regarding these items and he had returned my email but never did receive any response from me. He claims there are approx. 1400-1800 backing tracks and the steel guitar albums are equivalent of probably 135-140 albums.
I have never contacted anyone in regards to backing tracks or Tab as I play primarily by ear and never felt I could really put them to good use. If all this were legit, it probably would be one heck of a deal; however, we all know that if it sounds to good to be true, it usually is! I wouldn't bother to return an email for this scam.
Buyer beware, nuff said! A word to the wise is sufficient!
Keep steelin, Roger

I'd agree with Ray, but for the fact that we may all resell THE ONLY COPY of, f'rinstance, Paul's CD or Jeff"s course once we're done with it. Which means only after you get, f'rinstance, an obviously Xeroxed Jeffran book, do you discover that you've bought pirated goods.

Tab,
this guy is from Holland originally, he started the European steel guitar builders forum many years ago. Seemed like a decent fellow back then.
Lost track of him till now,
