Hey Crow
I was thinking the same thing,"where is Crow?
Well Crow at least you made it. I have been asked by e mail to identify some of those on the web site that Rick was so generous to do for me. Well there are so many,it would take quite a bit of time to do that.

First off my Dad Zeb is pictured on the photo page,my dad was a vaudevillian early on and in addition to his many achievments holds the distinction of being the only ever
Western Oriented group to grace the stage of the Radio City Music Hall. In addition he has
been featured in Warner Brother movie shorts
and holds a record for the most years appearing at New York's Village Barn. All told all 50 years my dad was a fixture at the barn.

Then we see this beautiful gal who married this corny ole Steel Player years ago and that gal was married to me for 50 wonderful years. You all know that story so I wont get into that right now, she passed from my life November 15th 2004,but not before she saw her dream come true and that was that I being inducted into the Steel Guitar Hall Of Fame. She made a promise to herself that if were the last thing she would do was to be there for me and she was, and it was in fact the last thing she did.

Then I had been asked who that gal or whatever, is dressed up like a "Ghost" well that my friends is my childhood buddy Sandy Miller Erkus. That photo was taken from the stage of the show "Fiddler On The Roof" where Sandy played the role of FrumahSara.
Sandy I'm proud to say is an accomplished musician and a voice to match her talent as as musician and is a great vocalist.Sandy like myself is also a native of Brooklyn New York and Crow, if Im not mistaken you are as well are you hiding the fact? Image Sandy is working with me at this time on my book, so she in fact is the Ghost Writer Ricks titles her photo. I have been receiving e mail at home asking me as to who those people are,I will be more than happy to answer any questions that any of you have,
in fact I think I'll discuss this with Rick.

There are photo's of my daughters Marie and Lorrie when they were children and of course
my beautiful granddaughter Casey who most all of you know.

Then there is a photo of some gal or I dont know what with a funny Red Nose and holding what looks to be a dead chicken Image seems to me I dont really know how she got into the picture, looks as though its a "Perdue Chicken" that was scared to death Image

Anyhow, any questions you have I will be more than happy to answer them. Thank you for visiting Rick's web site that he was so generous to do and to say I am proud is an understatement,, Thanks again ya'll or if you're from Brooklyn "Youse Guys and Goils.
BTW, you can expect to learn that Sandy will have a cd produced in the coming months and her singing will knock you're socks off,so be sure to wear your socks guys. Shirts and Socks is a must Image
"The Knight Of Fender Tweed Has Spoken"

Tweedle de de ya'll Image Thanks. Rick has done me proud. Thank you Rick.

Jody
PS I almost forgot, you will see a picture of Howard sitting behind the console of my guitar, why you ask? well Howard left his pants home again. Image

edited for spelling sorry but my Teacher is keeping tabs on me Image
[This message was edited by Jody Carver on 17 May 2005 at 06:30 PM.]

Thank you for doing this for my dad

Lorrie, you're welcome. I'm more than happy to do it, in fact it's a lot of fun!
And there's no one who deserves it more . .

Thanks to all for the nice comments.
This is a work in progress. Jody has given his approval to put some sound clips on the site, so that will be happening in the next few days.

And just wait till you get a load of Jody's article for the next JCFSG Club Newsletter. It's called "The Frets Of Life", and it's just about the most beautiful thing I've ever read.

I edited my previous post to give an update to those of you who have expressed interest in knowing who some of the people are and where they are today.Example Danny Davis who's photo is on Rick's photo page. Danny is the leader of that great group "The Nashville Brass". Danny and myself shared the bandstand at the Village Barn alternating
my group with his and this was long before Danny relocated to Nashville and it was then Danny had the idea of the Nashville sound with brass. I am pleased to say that it was Danny who told me that it was my group that gave him the idea of adding brass and doing the "now called "Nashville Brass Sound".
Any further questions with regard to the HotClub or anything else, feel free to post your questions or e mail me.Thank you Rick for your comment with regard to my story which will appear in the next newletter. I have been wanting to explain that I am not a writer per say,My spelling is poor and my grammar just as well. I had to call upon my good friend Sandy to edit and correct my mistakes and while doing so, did leave the original text as it was. So those of you who asked me,that is the answer. Wihtout Sandy's help my story would have been a jumble of words and I want to express my appreciation to my friend Sandy Miller Erkus for helping an old friend out. Thank you Sandy. Image

Rick, the picture I took that I am most proud of is already on your site.....the classic picture with Jody and Marilyn in each others arms at the time he received the award.

I have other unpublished pictures that were taken at the ISGC and it is good that I took them because there were no others taken that I know of.

Thanks Gene, I'll look forward to that. Image

New pics & stuff are being added constantly.
So just when you think you've seen it all, there's more!

BTW, the stats page says that we've had 663 unique visitors so far. Oddly enough, that's the exact population of Podunk, IL.
Coincidence? I wonder . .

Gene Thank you, I will never forget that day and how kind all of you were to Marilyn and myself, you all did her proud, I wished Iwas going to St.Louis this year, but memories are still there and I dont for sure if I can handle it. You can see the stress on my face as I knew this would be the last time for her. She passed only a few short weeks later.

I'll never forget you Cowboy and those friend's
like Smiley and Kenny Foy. Thanks again

Jody, we had several conversations about St. Louis taking into account everything that was going on at that time.

Marilyn was so right. She knew with unclouded vision that this would be something that you would both be proud of. She unselfishly gave of herself to make sure that you would have this honor that would be yours for the rest of your life.

She could have been our next president. Image

I admire her greatly.

We both thought and still think of how we value your friendship. Boy you guys are bringing tears to my eyes.

Love Ya guy.
