Get well soon Herb. I had a fairly nasty broken foot this time last year. Lets hope yours heals up as well as mine (no complications). I found crutches was really tough to get around (for distance) but was a able to rent a "knee walker" which allowed me to scoot around (often several miles a day as the office I work is 1/2 mile long hall). The knee walker saved the day...getting around became fairly easy.

I just spoke to Herb, and he asked me to ask all of you NOT to call him. He is getting so many calls from well wishers that he's not getting any sleep. Every time he nods off, the phone rings and wakes him.

He asked me to ask any of you that want to send him a get well greeting, please do so by sending an E-mail, not by calling him.

Herb, although you don't know me, I feel that I know you a bit through your posts here on the forum. This came as a shock and shows us again how fragile life can be. You were lucky to walk away from an apparently serious accident with your life and spirit intact. I wish you a speedy recovery!
