I got a call today from Ray Rich, now running a club in Amarillo, Texas. Many known steel players have played for Ray. I played for Ray for almost a year, back around 1979, when he had the big night club just outside of Liberal, Kansas. Scott Henderson came after me and played for Ray for many years. Anyway, I told Ray about the great Show in Siloam Springs, and about the great people who attend this show. I hope I talked Ray into attending and seeing a couple of his former steel players. I am looking forward to seeing my dear friend Jimmy Dreadfulwater at this show. I'm 1/4 native American and I may leave a couple days early and visit with Jimmy and the Cherokee center in Talequah, Okla. I think this is around 40 miles from Siloam Springs, Ark. Here is something Scott Henderson will appreciate: "A man in Liberal Kansas said his dog run away, and he watched him leave for 4 days!" Take my word for it, it is FLAT out there in no-man's-land. The city with the most wind in the USA is Mead Kansas, the wind averages 14 miles an hour. Meaning it blows hard every day. Liberal is 15 miles from Mead. One day the tumble weeds would roll north, the next day you would see the same tumble weeds rolling south. Remember those days Scott Henderson? But--at least we got to play "real" country music in those days.

Everything you say is true my friend Kieth! Especially about the real country music.
I hope Pop(Ray Rich) and his lovely wife get to come. If he does I get them up to sing. Pop worked for Wanda JAckson and Roy Clark back in the day with his group called "The Catalinas" What a voice he has and as always will be a great joy to see him and Pat. Hope they come. Yup you're right about SW Kansas. I moved there and within two weeks I saw rain mud. Seriously!!! I also one day picked up a sales receipt from a wal mart in Austin Tx.
Maybe some one from austin dropped it or maybe it just blew in!!!!HMMMMM i wonder (heheheehe) see you all in Siloam. My favorite show!!!

Scott, make sure you phone Ray Rich. Confirm the dates with him because they will have to take off work. I am looking forward to listening to Mr. Terry sing and play fiddle. He is a great talent, in the style of Tommy Jackson and Bobby Flores.

I talked to Roger on Friday and he tells me that we have guests coming from Denver, Kentucky, Texas, and Arizona. I just happened to have my Emmons with me that day.
Also, we went over the list of sidemen....looks like we're in good shape on guitars and bass...Jackie Harmon is coming up from Texas and he is always a joy to hear and a fine bass man to boot...I'll be there as well and Norma Jean, who supports this club, will also be on bass and vocals.
This is a great show and you won't want to miss it. Remember, approximately one and a half miles south on Ark Hwy 59 to the Baptist Assembly grounds....an absolutely awesome facility. Things get underway at 9:00 AM with only 10 minute breaks so you;ll have plenty of good steel at this show. Come one, come all.

Roger....that's probably true. Moving right along, I went to set up early as I promised to be in Sulphur Springs, Ar with Vance Monday tonight...while there Fred Justice drove in with 5 (five) new Rains guitars so there's plenty for everyone to test drive. I also noticed that the Hanley's were already set up......they conduct a wonderful Sunday morning church service. Show starts at 9 AM Sat the 23rd....be there
