Good luck to you, Rick, in having refound your life after your breakup. I have two Sho-Buds and they will always be my favorite instruments. 8) If I had the money, they would be on their way to you. With the passing of John Coop, Sho-Bud experts are becoming thin on the ground.

Hey Ricky,

I was sorry to read this thread about having to be a part-time dad, I know that can be very very hard. I am glad you are back to doing what you love and I wish you the best as always.

I have a 1969 6139 that could definitely use some of your "skills". We should discuss what that may run me so I can start saving and send it your way. I hate to leave it in the case because it is old and worn out and doesn't like to stay in tune. ;-)

Well this thread started a year ago and James' asks how I'm doing to revive thread?
Doing great; have done some super work on some great shobuds and still loving it. Still in Ausin and still able to see/have my baby Emilee every other week. Steve haven't played much golf yet...but back when I did play; I was single # handicap and at one point, scratch. Really ya'll thanks so much for the kind words and support and I'm still workin away; got three on the bench now...hands still holding up(with lots of stretching and breaks) and playing a TON of gigs with www.weldonhenson.com and recording quite a bit(you heard steel on "Bernie" and all the new TV series from Hulu...that's me"..ah.ha...and pickin up my baby this friday for the weekend.....I'm happy camper.

Is it possible to put a Bb lever on a Sho-Bud?

I was wondering about the Bb lever too. I'd like mine to be a LKV and I don't know if this is possible or would interfere with what is there.

I'll say Yes to is it possible to put a B to Bb lever on a Sho~bud. But there were so many era and mechanisms through all the Shobud years...it would have to be worked out what what parts would retro into your particular shobud...as Shobud was truly a custom built steel through all the years and they are different from year to year and measure almost differently between same year models..ha.
I've put many verticals on many shobuds and so has James Morehead.

What Ricky says. All I need to know is yours round cross shafts or hexagon cross shafts undercarriage then I can build it. Like Ricky says, he would need to know what era, so feel free to email pics of your guitar, particularly the underside to Ricky, and he will be able to "fill in the blanks" to custom fit your particular 'bud.

Ricky, he be opun 'fer bizz-nuss. So crank up yer email and give 'im a shout! Dem old 'buds ain't gitten' any younger, and dey don't fix deir selves!
