I just talked to Bobbe Seymour. I can't tell you how much he's looking forward to coming to Saluda. He told me not to. He told me he was gonna take a plane. I said, "I thought you already owned one!?"
Another great player, set to take the stage at Saluda! BE THERE!!!!!

Steve Gambrell, I said I was going to "catch a plane", but I didn't realize how fast they were, Why, I can't even catch a horse! I did catch a cold once though. It must have been a slow one. (the jokes will be better in Saluda)

Whew.... Bobbe don't try catching a Train or a Bus.
I hope everyone catches this great show that is for a great cause.Hats off to my brothers whose tireless efforts are into these 4 yearly shows regardless of their own health problems at times....Buddy Walker deserves and I am sure is rewarded by the efforts of all. The only time this show is about money is what amount it can contribute to Shriners Hospitals for cripple children. That is Buddys tireless goal for each and every show.

OK, Buddy's sent out the invites! Doug Jernigan, Bobbe Seymour, Walter Haynes, all you guys from Georgia, and Jeannie Smith is making a quilt to raffle off. And the best part of all, I WON'T BE THERE!!! So you folks have no excuse for not coming! Buddy and Charles ain't no spring chickens, but they put on one of the best steel shows this side of the Mississippi---and they do it FOUR times a year! The good folks in the kitchen, all the guys and gals who volunteer to take up tickets, move equipment, the band, the local pickers who come out---just a fun time, is what it is!
There's always some surprises, like when Joe Wright showed up, out of the blue, and played a KILLER set---or Mike Bagwell tearing the house down--
So, COME ON! Remember, this is a benefit show for the Shriners' hospital, and I don't have to tell you what they do---for free! Plan to come Saturday AND Sunday, bring that ax, and have more fun than you thought possible for 15.00!!
And please, if you don't mind...

Stephen...I told Larry you said "hello". He said "Stephen who?". Gettin' totally out of control here, you two better kiss and make up. Bobbe, I thought you did quite well on the jokes, if they get better we'll all be in stitches. It's gonna be another good one!

I will not be power diving on the building this year and throwing out full water bottles. This was a one time antic to get someones attention to come to the airport to pick me up last time. Sorry about the dent in the corragated metal building. This show will be safe to attend, I'll be nice.
Buddy Walker, have the arresting wires across the south end of the runway. I'll be in early Saturday, and in tune.

I just went to a Masonic Lodge meeting in Camden, North Carolina last night and ran into ol' Brother John Floyd. Some of you have been wondering where John's been hiding. He's staying at home most of the time and has no phone or computer on line at the moment. He wanted me to tell his friends at Saluda that he won't be there at this one but will make an attempt to be at the next Saluda Show. Have a good 'un...JH

I just got home from playing the great Lexington KY. show, Fred Layman produced another hit. It was an incredible show with a very strong lineup of players. The facility was greater than ever.
Now it's off to Saluda SC., yep, many players I've talked to are Saluda bound.
I'm looking forward to seeing you all there.
