For the older crowd (like myself) listen to Ray Price doing "TIME". It's "right on" and my favourite.

Probably "I Take a Lot of Pride In What I Am" by Merle Haggard, although I can't help but mention a few runners-up :

"Saginaw, Michigan" - Lefty Frizell
"Apartment #9" - Tammy Wynette
"Nowhere to Run" - Johnny Paycheck
"Chick Inspector" - Dick Curless
"My Elusive Dreams" - George Jones & Tammy Wynette

One I really like and it's actually called
"My Favorite Country Songs" from Curley Cooke, (he was a guitar player for Steve Miller).

I was going to say Empty Glass by Gary Stewart/Dean Dillon, but Steven reminded me of "Someday Soon".
A perfectly written and performed song.
One of the first things I learned on PSG and to this day, I have never played with anyone that did that song.
Maybe someday soon....

Quite and array of taste here.
I grew up listening to Born To Lose and I guess it is my favorite song in any style or genre.
Thanks for the replys.

An "honorary" country tune-Linda Ronstadt's version of "Silver Threads and Golden Needles" with Ed Black,Gib Guilbeau, and Herb Pederson is mighty nice.
