I have to warn you up front that palm levers won't do as much as pedals or knee levers, but they do a lot more than no levers at all.
The levers will only work one string at a time. Mine has four levers. In reality I only use the center two most of the time. By depressing them I get the subdominant, as you would pressing the first two pedals of a pedal steel.
Ron, I was under the impression that you were using the knee levers on your Carter. If so, you couldn't use palm levers on the same strings.

Hey Al! :) my honest friend.
It is highly appreciated for the concern you`ve shown for my thoughts on the palm levers, and it is good advice. But, not to worry ole friend. When one is trying to wade through the possibilities, of what can be done to get back to stretching those strings once again, one simply considers what is available to somebody with my physical challenges. That is why your advice is so much appreciated ole friend. And to be able to seek and find sooo much information available through the brotherhood of this forum is priceless!
I`m still looking at all possibilities, since Carter offered no help at all. Therefore, I`m still experimenting with my own designs, and soon, a brand new sound might be becoming available through my personal efforts. So once again, Thanks, for your wise advice, it means much my friend. ;-) Again be blessed!
Ron
