ProTools 9 with the new 3rd gen. Avid MBoxPro. So far, so good. I like it!

I use pro tools M box pro. Works great. I dumped Digital Performer last year and switched to PT. I am very happy with the switch. I don't use plug ins though.

I started with the Presonus Firestudio from Musicians Friend. It came with Studio One and it's a great little program/firebox combo. I just upgraded to Logic Pro and it is definitely a step up. I still use the Firebox for my preamps but Logic has better loops and better digital instruments in my opinion. They are pretty similar but Logic seems just a bit more polished.

I recently purchased a Presonus FireStudio Mobile and replaced the Zoom R16 as a computer interface.

The Firewire frees up the USB ports on my Mac Book Pro and the latency is very low. I can run a lap steel or guitar through an amp into one of the line-in ports on the Presonus and get the exact sound that I want. Lots of head room. In my opinion it is a real nice piece of gear for under $300 (paid $249 at GC). I can also run my keyboard through its MIDI ports. It came with Studio Artist.

As for DAWS, I am committed to Logic Express and plan to upgrade to Pro. In addition to Studio Artist, I have Ableton Live, Cubase LE, GB, and Reaper, along with NI, but Logic does what I want.

I bought David Nahmani's book on Logic and that is really helping.

I use Logic Pro 9 with a MOTU 828 over firewire at home.
The Zoom R16 works great as a Mackie control surface in Logic over USB as well.

Logic Pro with dedicated PowerMac G5 dual core. 8 gb of ram. It is seamless.
