Due to all the interest in "Kindly keep it country", I thought I'd throw the intro into a lesson. Not something you can use everyday, but maybe a few chords you do get to use a lot. Greg

Greg, Dick, I am enjoying these lessons very much. Maybe it is just my conmputer, but I cannot hear you speaking very well. May be my old ears, but I have the volume turned up as loud as it will go on the computer. Is it just me? I certainly do not want to miss anything and thanks for taking out the time to help.

I'm not sure Wally, but I'll check it out on my end and/or make sure that they are recorded louder from now on to be sure. Thanks for checking them out! Greg

You keep saying you are not a teacher, well let me correct that.
A. You have the desire to let others profit from your knowledge
B. You are speaking nice and slow to your students
C. You are never offended if they make a mistake
D. You are willing to repeat the same instruction over and over again

The only thing that I, as a professional teacher (highschool) can comment on is, that you never compliment the students when they get it right, but who can blame you! (lol)

So nice to have my own personal teacher 6000 miles away on my earphone playing along with me and Dick, as the assistant, doing the paperwork.

Also nice to learn that I had the unison intro already correctly figured out by myself.

Thank you so much guys.

Thanks for the kind words Bas. I appreciate your input. I still don't consider myself a teacher. Just someone who learns differently than most and tries to explain things the way that I process them.

I know one thing; I'm a terrible student! I took some instruction from one of the best players on the planet and had it not been for recording it, I would not have retained near as much as I would have liked. Now I feel like I could go back and absorb more in a sitting than before. Plus the fact that I was so nervous and in awe of this player.

Hopefully the way that I'm offering these little tidbits of information is simple enough and challenging enough to the right group of people that like to learn this way. I record them in one take, mistakes and all. I do hope that you all are enjoying these and getting something out of them.

The funny thing about licks and fills and such, are that while you may or may not recognize where to put them at the time, but one day you'll just be playing a song on stage or at home and the lick will just jump out of your hands and on to the guitar almost without thinking about it.
It's a crazy thing this steel guitar! :)
