Hi Erv, I'd like to buy about twenty of your E9th tabs. Where do I send a list to?

When I was coming back from the steel show in Wisconsin Rapids on Sunday night, I had "Moose Country" on the radio.
They play a lot of goold old country and they played "Sincerely" by some country group.
I remember hearing that song by the McGuire Sisters and always liked it.
I pulled out an old song book and wrote a tab for it.
I think it turned out quite well. :D

Do you happen to have the tab for "Charlie's Shoes" or "The Key's In the Mailbox"?

Received the tab today. That was fast!!! I love your tab. The numbers are easy for my aging eyes to see and the tab fits the setup on my guitar. Couldn't be better. Thanks a million.

I had a request to do "Happy Trails", so here it is.
As you might well know, it was written by Dale Evans and sung by her husband, Roy Rogers.
I always thought this was a very simple song but it isn't!
Either that or I over complicated it.
I'll add it to the list. :D

Lily Dale

Post by Erv Niehaus »

"Lily Dale" is an old song from 1852, written by H.S. Thompson.
Billy Jack Wills, Bob's brother, re-wrote it somewhat and put a tune to it that would fit the Bob Wills style.
It modulates from C to G and back, kinda like, "San Antonio Rose".
In the past, it was even called by another name; "Lindy Lou"

If you want to hear what "Lily Dale" sounds like, there are some versions on YouTube, one by Willie Nelson and Darryl McCall, another one by Gene Watson and also one by Bob Wills.

I'm presently working on a few old "country" standards.
I finished up with "Room Full Of Roses" last night.
If my memory isn't failing me, I believe Eddy Arnold had the big hit out on this one.

Finished "Blue Eyes Crying In The Rain" last night. :D
If I'm not mistaken, I believe Willie had this one out.

Gary,
Your old standard tabs will be on their way to California today.
Thanks so much!

I had a request for "Waltz Across Texas".
This was made famous by Ernest Tubb and the Texas Droopy Drawers.
I also did another Ernest Tubb song: "Tomorrow Never Comes", plus a Kris Kristofferson song:
"Help Me Make It Through The Night".

Some of you are looking for the tab for "The 3rd Man Theme".
I finally got a version worked up but it wasn't easy!
It would up being 6 pages long!
I hope those of you who were wanting a tab for this song will be somewhat pleased with my version. :D
