It's hard to believe more folks didn't admit to having to rush over to their steel to try that tune out...

Hey Mickey, You're a nice guy, but you don't get the strings on that one...

Mike, I was teasing about you giving the strings away. I was going to do that to the winner.. :D But you were a great Sport about it, just the same.

I know Bill Sutton is ready for the contest. Right Bill? :)

Congrats again Mike, on a real fine job!!!

Mike, great job on a beautiful song. I remember going over Dayton to hear Donnie Bowser back in late 60's. I think this was at a place called the Ponderosa. it's been a long time....

Ok, I admit it! in fact, I've got a BIAB file I just composed and also an mp3 rendered from the file for those who don't have Band In A Box installed on their computers. Click on my email link and specify which one or both. I'd still like to have the original rhythm track too though.

Mike, your recording is an inspiriation to play steel guitar. :)

Hi Mike,
The feeling you put in it is top of the heap. The emotions you evoked were second to none.
The clarity needs to be mentioned. It is the clarity, I think, that turns people on to the pedal steel. Couple this with the emotional playing and you have yourself a winner. I loved it. What more can I say?

Hey Bill S.,

You're too good a player to be letting a Rut hold you back. So just keep on going.

I Also, want you to know that it sure wouldn't be meant as a competition between Mike or anyone else. It was meant to be a fun time only, for the ones who might want to have a bit of competition between themselves, and others. :)

You do know, that trying someone else's tune to get as close to their playing as you can, is the Highest form of Praise a player can get.

We can each play, but I've found that playing is much like a Fingerprint. There are no two who play alike, as there are no two finger prints exactly the same. I still believe it's a person's Soul, that comes out during his/her playing.

So yes, it was all in fun. And Mike sure was a good sport about it too. :)

Bill remember to climb back out of that rut and get back to playing. Don't let it pass you by! 8)

Also to keep in line with the subject, yes that tune sure was done in premium style..........

I've only just caught up with this thread, and, on listening to Mike's playing, I too had to go to my steel and have a go at it.

Has anyone got a backing track that they could email me ?
