Either one will work, they just respond a little different. Audio would be the prefered.
By the way, I prefer the audio taper AB pot in my Shobud pedals. I love the feel of that Shobud pedal/Allen Bradley pot, and how it interacts with my tube amp. I go from guitar to the pedal straight to my Fender tube amp. My only effect is my Fender reverb. That's the tone that I find the most pleasing to MY ear. Tried a Hilton once, wasn't me. Tried some other pots--found them lacking.
Well, next time I buy a pot, it will be an Allen Bradley. This thread makes me want to take out the Dunlop pot, and put in an Allen Bradley in my Sho Bud pedal. If I hadn't just paid $28 for the dunlop I would. Probly just buy myself another Sho Bud pedal, and put in an Allen Bradley.
James, I got all my parts installed, and after thinkin I'd guessed fairly close to pull rod length, I under shot the length by 3 1/2". So Jerry Roller is gonna send me another 7/64th rod this week. I think it's gonna work ok, I had to cut one of the shafts off, and had to cut 1/2" off the two connectors(bellcrank lookin thingys) to make it fit.
I need to ask you about the little spring that goes on the shaft, E9 side. I'll email you.
Terry, I'll send you a pic of that spring in action.
Also, that Dunlop will probably be fine. It's really tough to score an AB pot, and be careful on the used one's, that it's not worn out and scratchy--plenty of that kind floating around.
