What Scott Howard and Jim Smith said: you can get the knee levers placement to be more ergonomic and comfortable on the SD-12 body.

Although, now that I think about it: an SD-12 WITHOUT a pad might be better, I don't believe resting your right arm and wrist on a pad is good form and can actually hurt your technique.
