I want to say that we missed George Piburn..."Mister Boards" of George Boards this year......George is always a colorful guy, good character, and promoter of steel guitar...and one of the originators of this event.....hopefully next year George.....

I have to say it was a pleasure to meet all of you that I've only known as cyber friends, nothing better than up close and in person. All the players were top notch, I hope next year is as good as this year.

This was my 1st time to attend the Dallas show, and it truly is a wonderful thing when kindred minds & spirits come together in the name of making music. A "tip of the hat" to everyone who made the weekend so very special, and a robust standing ovation to Jeff & Howard who managed the event. I enjoyed meeting you and look forward to seeing everyone in the near future ! If ever in Nashville, give me a "holler". All the best !!

Looks like a great time there. I am glad to see there was some jams going on as well. I would have loved to have been there, but the time away from the work bench would be killing me now.
I hope to be there in 2011

First time for me at Dallas. I don't like to fly, but I just had to see it with all that scheduled talent. All the folks were very nice and friendly too. Girl Howdy was a kick. And wasn't Reece great?

Thanks to all who put it on in Rick's name and participated.

What a great weekend!

After flying home from Dallas, I immediately drove down to south Florida for a few days. While there, I visited with Rick's widow for an afternoon. She sincerely appreciates everyone who made it to honor Rick, his music, and his vision to celebrate and promote steel guitar. Although we lost our friend and pal, let's not forget her loss and all that she did financially to enable us to make this event and memorial a success.

I'd like to give a special thanks to everyone who participated and came to the show...the musicians, the audience, the behind the scenes folks, and those who stopped in to sit down and enjoy themselves for awhile.

There's no way I could list everyone, but I personally want to thank some folks that helped me to make the event special.

The first name that cames to mind is that of Kenny "K.J." Tucker. He was the right-hand man this weekend, and it would not have run as smooth as it did without him. He saved Howard and I many times with little things that would come up.

Thanks to Larry and Phyllis for their behind the scences support. Phyllis must have ESP, because she always knew when I was about to collapse from hunger, and saved me in the nick of time with sandwiches, hot dogs, and doughnuts.

A big thanks to the all the musicians, especially Ivan Reddington, Gerald Ross, and Chris Kennison, who came to the rescue many times for me when there was no bass player to be found.

I also thank the smiling faces in the audience, who just come to see and hang out with us each year. I especially look foward to seeing my friends Bill Chaviers and Billy Gilbert, who come every year and fill our seats with tapping feets!

Thanks to Girl Howdy and Kevin Brown who both made sacrifices to come a long way to share some great music with us.

It was finally great to shake hands with forum friends I've had for years, like Brad Bechtel, "our boss".

I had a great vacation thanks to everyone, and now it's time to unpack and get a week's worth of sleep before going back to work tomorrow.

Hey Jeff,
You and Howard did a great job--Rick would be proud. Get some sleep and will you please sing some more next year?

FYI--Girl Howdy had a total blast, and my guitar buddy's name is Lyon Graulty.

One idea: how about doing a Kickstarter.com fundraiser to help fund the Non-pedal sessions next year?

I'll check out kickstarter.com...it looks interesting at first glance..thanks.....I'm also working on our website (I'll add photos, vids, and comments) and what we plan to do is add a paypal account for donations.....we also have a few ideas to add.....in due time.....

Is Carco's Fender guitar a stock 10 string guitar?

There was some discussion about that. It sure seemed like it came out of the factory, Carco didn't know. While we were talking about that an older gentleman showed us a photo of his triple neck with all necks being 10 string. He said his was factory made. I should have asked him the year. I have seen other posts debating this topic.
