So I got the steel from UPS at 5:00 and by 8:00 I was playing it in San Antonio. Here is a cel phone shot on stage tonight.

That is a beautiful guitar; Let us know when you are going to be playing it in the Austin area, I sure would love to get a close up and hear it; If you sound half as good as it looks; look out

todd - it would sure be interesting to see a shot of the undercarriage / tone changers - i've never seen one and the bigsby book didnt go into any detail about them unfortunately.

what are most people asking for regarding changes on the e9 neck - isaac's setup, or what?

If Todd doesn't have underside pictures I'll try to take some tonight.

My guitar has the normal E9 pedals except the C pedal only raise one string. The C6th pedals are basically the normal P5 through P8.

one more thing - as if it even matters on steels like this - but what does it weigh in at? - looks pretty stout.

Steve's guitar weighed in at 62 lbs in the case. The non pedals are quite a bit lighter. But really not bad compared to most pedal steels out there. My old sho-bud weighed more. I think there is many general misconceptions when it comes to Bigsby's or that "style guitars". That they weigh a lot, or break strings, break cables,or don't hold tune, ect ect. Sometimes rumors overtake the truth and usually the ones who spread the rumors are not in the know. I have seen it on the forum and heard it at steel shows.
Anyways here are a few photos of the undercarriage of Steve Walz guitar.I did not want to post this in the non pedal area but the request was made and it is mostly non pedal guys into these instruments. This copedant is about as far as this guitar in a D-10 fashion can go, a triple would allow more room for changes.

Yup, that's how Paul Bigsby would've done it!! Todd, you are truly THE man! I am tempted by the beauty!!

And I agree with everything you said regarding weight, string breakage, etc. My T8 weighs slightly less than my D10 Bud and the string breakage has never been a problem.

Most folks want a straight steel but for "Tone Changers" the basic 6th changes... like Steve mentioned P5 -P7... or more. And/Or the Isaacs.
Thanks for the comments Jussi. I was checking out your my space page the other day to listen to "Lorraine in the Morning" again and noticed the photo of you playing my lap steel ! Cool to see. BTW is that recording awith LITM available somewhere?

I have been meaning to update my web site for a while now. The lap steels are not up, or current guitars. The instruments on there are my 2 prototypes. Alot has changed since those two guitars. Mostly minor details but , finish, logo ect.

Daniel heres a photo of a Triple 47' style. I think I have put this photo up before . Mike Neer has posted some lap steel sound clips.

Also Mid 50's style:

I'll have some more triple photos to post at the end of march or april.

I love them all, but that Triple 47 would be my choice! But then its no secret I'm a big wood nut at heart.
For those that might not know, Todd has scored some of the very best figured sugar maple that can be found! There is a small fortune tied up in raw maple alone.

the mid fifties style triple eight is really nice but i also like the 1947 style model.
