When the song is over, the issue is no longer critical.

I never could make sense of the bad penny returning. What I do know, is the word "helper" can be misconstrued. It can mean either lifting you, or pushing you. Deciphering is an art. Are we really becoming heppers in this new century?

Dick,

Really, your sources are misleading in every sense of the true word meanings. I do appreciate it when you are "on", but not today.

It would seem to me that the people that try to match wits with Bill and fail would just not read his posts. I enjoy reading Bill's posts even though I don't understand half of what he is saying. In my humble opinion if you don't like what he says then don't read his posts. I VOTE FOR BILL TO CONTINUE ON and to hell with the critics. Winston May

Bill Hankey’s topics are always the same endless series of nonsensical outbreaks of pointless expounding of a narcissistic personality with an erudite vernacular utilized irrespective of necessity. But that is precisely what makes his topics so irresistible.

Barry,

There is little chance of a cessation in the sharp criticism of my posts, or a fading out of harsh outcries to silence my voice. It's becoming more difficult to jog some of the interesting writers out of their transitory state of ignoring the rudiments of playing the steel guitar. I've actually considered the possibility that not all written material appearing on the forum, is a strong indicator of playing ability in that individual. Assuming that, is called, taking a risk in laymen's language.

fffssswoooooooshhh........

hand whizzing above head........

the beauty in a bh thread is the unspoken invitation to belittle and make fun of something/someone without a worry of offending anyone, as there seems to be no center point, no home base, no one home so to speak...

a very interesting phenomenon.

Well said, winston. Might I suggest you do the same with my posts here.

Bill, you may be right, since, apparently, no forumite has ever heard, or at least vouched for, your playing.

Barry, interesting that you should point this out, as hankey has belittled my playing (as well as others) strictly based on posts we've made.

but as chris says, nothing in billys threads make much sense, so why would that statement make any sense either.

Stephen,

Surely, as the small insect tries in vain to detach itself after falling into the hidden web, each attempt becoming more hopeless after the spider has injected a desensitizer. The spider quickly binds the legs and wings in the webbing before checking for damages inflicted by the struggle. Nature is cruel in many ways, by creating false hopes in the unlearned individual. He may try to take the shortest imagined route to a desired goal. In this instance, it happens to be learning to become adept at playing the instrument of choice, among steel players.

Many of the problems that ensue, originate through gamesome individuals who get their kicks by involving other activities, such as bringing down concepts, to where they are subjected to a type of criticism unrelated to original thought processes.

Winston, possibly I am misinterpreting your remarks, but you seem to be dismissing all of Bill's critics in general, which includes me as well.

winston,

Steel players from remote areas would otherwise be unheard from without their forum memberships. Located far off the main drags, in Daniel Boone's bear country, steel guitarists passed through on their trips to Nashville. The Louvins liked the state, and included the song "Kentucky" on one of their albums. :) :)

Bo Legg,

IMO, in 1962 the Louvins were the best harmonies in the business. I wouldn't call that insignificant. I've deleted and will continue to do so, any written material that is not in accord with moralistic principles. Steve, please edit your dire concepts of unprincipled behaviorism. Thanks in advance..

There once was a dobroist named Peg
No relation at all to Bo Legg
According to Hankey
She was a little bit skankey
But he none the less fertilized her egg
