3 times for me. Got married at 19. That was dumb. divorced at 21. Married again at 33. That one lasted 19 years and probably should have ended sooner. Been married now for 5 years and I found me a good one.

"Till death do us part". Death came, in the form of breast cancer, seven years ago this coming Sunday. I started with the best, so I really don't know just where to go from here. I've pretty well "seen it all", so I'll just say this - if it DOESN'T work out, I don't know what to tell you. If it does, hold on to it tight - it can all end too soon, and in soom situations, you can't do a damn thing about it... Jimmie

Sorry, I meant in SOME situations. With this, and a half a snoot full of gin, I'll go to bed... Jimmie

Met my wife Marianne in 1953, Married in 1955, been married 54 years . Now that say a lots for a woman that put up with a musician for 55 years. Been ups and downs but we alway worked it out. We are both 77 and still together and happy. I still play my steel in a good country band every weekend and having fun. Shorty

Aren't you supposed to buy them a house and a new car then let them move on?
After the 2nd one, Finances dictated that I remain single for the last 24 years.

The first one lasted 9mos. 13 days and 16 hrs. (she like to have fun, just not with me)

The second one I'm still married to. Don't have any idea how. I guess because she likes music, that's probably the only common thread we have, but it's a strong one.

Shouldn't this be posted under `Our Expended Family`?

I'm in the middle of my 2nd "unmarriage" (i.e. divorce, splittsville, and a thousand other cliches').

The steel has always done me right though. :D

I've never been married but I read this thread for the heck of it and its been a fun read. Some of you make me wish I'd married the first time I could have and others make me glad I didn't. I am the only member of a large family who never married, never divorced, never lost a house, never paid alimony or child support. But I also never experienced the up sides. Don

Only once, 36 years last Monday. I believe I'll keep her around, maybe another 36 years? I would only be 93 years old. I think I can make it. :)

Skip Montee I didn`t think you would ever stop. you have out done me this time. I guess seven is your lucky number to fine one that could put up with you. Now one more thing why are you not bringing that old Emmons that you play so smooth to the the steel jams???

My beautiful wife Gay and I have been married for nearly 33 years. It's the first and only marriage for us both. Now honestly, does she look like she's old enough to have been doing anything for 33 years? I'm a very lucky man, not only is she gorgeous...she puts up with my G.A.S. in every sense of the word! I clearly married above my pay grade.

My first one lasted 22 years, was a free man for eight years, On my second one now for 23 years. Never had any trouble from either one about my playing. My present one only gets upset when I'm NOT playing. Have'nt figured out yet if she just likes the money OR just glad to get me out of the house. Hey SHORTY it's TOO cold to have that old girl outside. Guess ya'll are still knocking em' out on Auburn Road. YOU BETCHA,DYK?BC.

Divorced in 1987 and just remarried this year. I was laid off in 2003 and have been a bum since so I don't know why she married a poker playing, steel guitar addict like me. She doesn't like poker and my playing bothers her because I am always searching for new things on the guitar. When I play a known tune it amazes her that I can really play something on the steel.

Rick B...You and I got ourselves a keeper. Like you and your beauty Gay, Judy and I have been married for 34 years. It's not my doing, mostly hers. She gave me 2 great kids and now, 3 fine grand children. Life's been good!

The first one did herself in with drugs after 7 years and that kinda spooked me. Got a good one now and she keeps me in line. Deborah and I've been together now just about 25 years. It seems to be working out...

Thanks Bent, you are so right. Looks like we both did well. Where was your photo taken? Mine was taken at the top of the faux Eiffel Tower in Las Vegas. (Michael J. it looks like you did well, too) :)
