Ray, of all people you should know that JB would say that Lennon is playing 'slide guitar' on a steel.
In reviewing this thread, I don't see where anyone has called the steel a slide guitar. And only two points where the 'bar' is termed a slide, once by myself, which isn't far from the ballpark of 100% correctness since it's not even a steel bar.

Almost looks like a .410 shell with brass on both ends. Never seen a lighter like that!
