I don't see any reason to want to remove the channel from that beautiful body! I'd suggest leaving it just as it is!

Its currently a 24" scale. I just finished a 22 1/2" channel that I will change out and see if I like that better. I made some other changes that help the sound out that are not in the photos. The aluminum nut and bridge seem to have some dead spots for some notes some I now use a SS round nut and bridge. More even sound up and down the neck.

I'll get the knob question figured out this week. They are really easy to work if you like riding the knobs instead of a V/T pedal.

That slotted headstock in aluminum is sexAYY--like a frypan. Great looking steel guitar--you took the coolest parts of the coolest guitars and combined them.
