John,
Thank you for the information, but I think I'll try what James suggested concerning the caps and tubes. Thank you all for your help.

The '65 Reissue Twin Custom 15 comes with what is supposed to be an Eminence "clone" of the D130. It's a real sweet sounding amp, and will handle moderately high volume... but I notice when pushing the volume, I need to dial the bass back just a tad, to keep the amp sounding nice and clean.... this is something I never have had to do with my Session 500s.... however, I'm not sure how much of that is speaker, or just the difference in SS vs a tube amp.
When the venue has reinforced sound... the Twin is my amp of choice.
Now... I have just installed a Weber 15" "Michigan" in a open back cabinet that I use with my Nashville 112 amp.... this is really a smooth full sound, at a fraction of the BW weight... but the Michigan is rated at only 100 watts (the Cali 15 is only rated at 80 watts). When I get this speaker in a live venue..... I'll report back on what it's limits seem to be.... here's a link:

That would be the JBL D-130.
It's the alnico magnet 15" speaker that hasn't been made in close to 25 years.

GD Walker uses that model on the Stereo Steel system, I know, I have a pair in an enclosed tuned cabinets and they sound sweet.I prefer them over the JBL ove the Black Widow anyday. The Stereo Steel comes with your choice of the JBL or Peavey Black Widow speakers. I played through the Peavey amps for years. To me the Peaveys were heavy and didn't quite sound right to me.Tommy |

Just for the sake of information (argument) I personally own two JBL D120F speakers which are gray in color & NOT designated with any Fender logo on them. I bought them new in 1970 or '71 from a music store in Washington DC. In fact, the word "Fender" does not appear anywhere on them, although they may have been originally designated to be used in Fender amps. They have been in a Fender twin and right now are in a Peavey Deuce cab. ![Cool](images/smiles/icon_cool.gif) |

The "F" in D120F is what makes it designated as Fender. JBL widened the voice gap a little more from the regular D120's and D130's, so the speaker could handle more power. JBL's biggest customer was Fender. Thus the "F" to designate the "NEW" speaker for their biggest customer. At least this is the way I understand it. |
