I was after the old Fender Vibratone sound and chose (and recommend) the "Destination Rotation Single" by Option 5, handmade by Jay Woods from IN.
I like it very much and it has a great switchable overdrive in it. Check out their website's sound examples!

Tech 21 just came out with their version called the Roto Choir. It's not even on their website yet, but there's a demo on youtube.
I just bought their Boost Delay from the same series, and it's outstanding. |

I've got a bunch of these styrofoam rotors, in case anyone wants to build their own Leslie. No motors though. I built one with a 12" speaker. Sounds great.

It was probably the Pro Junior.
These days I use an H&K Rotosphere. It really nails that Leslie sound - even the resonance of the cabinet. It works well in mono or stereo, and includes a 12AX7 preamp tube for the overdrive sound. |
Bob,
I've always wondered why there is not a rack mountable version of this product. Since it sits on the floor, how much of a PITA is [re]setting the effects?

I rarely touch the Rotosphere controls, Jeff. The 3 footswitches handle everything that's required on stage. _________________ -𝕓𝕆𝕓- (admin) - Robert P. Lee - Recordings - Breathe - D6th - Video |
