Really some interesting data guys! Thanks for all the posts. I also find it interesting that so many of the senior members of our instrument are computer savvy. I have lots of friends who are seniors and wouldn't know a computer if it fell on them!!!

I started on steel back in June of 1980.I was working a part time job my senior year of high school,and saved up the $900.00 for a Sho~Bud LDG.

I played AT it for over 20 years before deciding to really get interested in it a little less than 4 years ago.

How long have you been playing steel?

Started in 1968 scratching around looking for info, then took up fiddle in 1971 along with Dobro, and at this time am just getting into the c6th neck, I suppose it's an on going process, and a challeng to see who runs out of time first.Slim.
