Not getting off subject but the song reminded me of something that happened back in the 70's when I had first started playing steel,I had worked real hard working up a fairly decent version of Faded Love,Was working with a band with three singers all had HUGE egos,Always a conflict who got to sing the most,[sure none of you ever been in a band like this]Finnally they asked me if I wanted to play an instrumental,I said let me play Faded Love,One of them said,I know that I will sing it,I told him HELL NO YOU'RE NOT,I'M PLAYING IT!And I did.DYKBC.

Thanks for the responses concerning Faded Love. Now all I have to do is locate the master amongst all of my tapes. .. As far as the recordings from the Cavalcade Of Guitars which was done in 1976 in Dallas, I have been listening to what I have had put on CD's. I think that the first CD that will probably be released will be a CD featuring Curly Chalker's individual performance that night at the Cavalcade Of Guitars along with Julian Tharpe's individual performance that night. Curly was really on that night and his segement is really something to hear. Julian Tharpe was typical Julian Tharpe and he was joined on stage by the great jazz bassist, Slam Stewart, who played and sang Danny Boy along with Julian.
I hope to have that CD ready to release shortly after the first of the year.
Other CD's from that Dallas session will be released early next year if everything goes as planned.
thanks,
Dave A. Burley
