With 3 hours of play, we only have enough time for about maybe close to 25 jam tunes, plus the solos.

Think about your favorites for picking.<FONT SIZE=1 COLOR="#8e236b"><p align=CENTER>[This message was edited by db on 04 March 2000 at 10:19 AM.]</p></FONT>

I hope to narrow this list down a little.
Jim has pointed out that no one will be playing
"4 Wheel Drive" unless BE shows up.
Any other comments about what's "a keeper"
and what should go would be helpful.
As Becky put it "we should do it Karaoke style".
I will hand out a print-out list of the tracks available on the day of the jam, and everyone can "sign-up" for 4 or 5 tunes.
We've got two months to fine tune this thing.
Thanks for all your input.

I think if we're gonna do the sign-up routine, it's best to do it in advance, right here, so everybody knows what they're gonna play. (Doesnt' this take some of the spontaneity out of a 'jam', though?) Anyway, I'll bite for The Preacher, Roly Poly, and I Love You Because (if it's an uptempo, swing version; if not, I'll pick something else.)

Star Tracks is back on. I don't have any of Jeff's collections, so I'll get this one for the jam.

I would like to jam on;
"He Stopped Loving Her Today"
"Living on Tulsa Time"
"Don't Worry 'Bout Me"
and maybe "Swinging Doors".
And any tune that someone else picks
off my '90's CD.
Has anyone else come up with tunes that they want to jam on yet?
P.S. I added some tunes to the previous list, check'em out. <FONT SIZE=1 COLOR="#8e236b"><p align=CENTER>[This message was edited by db on 23 March 2000 at 06:49 PM.]</p></FONT>

Becky is thinking of putting together Hotel recommendations for anyone who is traveling far and would like to stay overnight and maybe see the sights in the area while they are down.
If anyone is interested, post on the thread or email Becky becky@billlawrence.com <FONT SIZE=1 COLOR="#8e236b"><p align=CENTER>[This message was edited by db on 16 March 2000 at 06:20 PM.]</p></FONT>

I have an Alkyre E Harp and would like to attend the May 7th event, if we can. Is there still room? Will anyone else have an E Harp? I'll send a final reply sometime in April. Thank you. Joan Hayden

There still seems to be some confusion about the jam.
This is a "rhythm tracks" only jam, with the number of players and the limited time that we have, if we had back-up players for each player we would have no time to play.
If you have a special consideration or concern please contact me ASAP dbalde@eclipse.net
I will print-up copies of a list of al the tunes that are available so that we can call out any tune is we get into a bind.
Thanks,
db

Clarifications:

You do not have to sign-up for tunes to participate fully at the jam!

Those who would like to request a particular tune in advance can, and those who prefer the thrill of "flying by the seat of their pants" can just wait and see what comes up! That way, everyone can participate in whatever manner they feel most comfortable.

There will be a list of all of the material available at the jam. You can anonymously place a mark next to as many tunes (up to 20) that you think would be good choices for the jam. The jam program will be put together from the final vote tally.

The invitation was made to post tune choices on the Forum thread in order to:
a.) Encourage player discussion and participation in putting the jam program together.
b.) Let me get some of the paperwork out of the way before the jam.
c.) Get an early vote so that extended "BIAB" mixes could be made of a few of the most popular tunes.

If you have any tune suggestions that you think would work well for extended “BIAB” mixes that everyone can play on, there is still some time left. Send them to me or Jim Cohen as soon as possible.

Hey Dan,
might it not be a good idea to post to a new thread a short and concise message with location, time, $$, and a link to directions?
