A superb performance by a group of seasoned pro's, who were obviously enjoying themselves. A setting that really allowed Jay Dee to shine. Hopefully there will be more bookings, and judging by the nearly full house there should be. But if you can make either of the remaining shows don't miss it.

Pete and John said it all. Music of the highest caliber was just pouring off that stage. We all sat together and drank in the music - and a couple beers. Their drummer Steve Duncan who happens to be my brother-in-law,came by the house this afternoon and we caught up on old times. They're heading out to Colorado tomorrow for a gig on Sunday. Like has already been said - catch these gigs or die trying. These guys really are the high-water mark in the history of West Coast country-rock.

Hello Michael,I've known your brother -in-law a long time.Great Drummer and a super person as well as a good record producer. Is " Bill B " playing Bass guitar with them? Nobody has said his name yet! LJ

Amazing show, i'm really glad to say that I went. All players were excellent, and when Hillman sang "Wheels" I swear I felt Gram was in the room with us cheering his buddy on...
Being a younger steel player (27), this was the first time seeing JayDee play outside of the Mike Perlowin Jams in LA. Expert playing and great tone as usual, but it really came alive in a live band setting. I have to say once again JayDee is one of 3 people that made me want to play steel guitar.
It was good to see at least 4 Southern California Steel Guitar Association Members there. One of my good friends Kevin Greenberg (a fellow steel player and SCSGA member) came with me to the show, and was truly a fan after the first couple of songs. He was previously infamiliar with the band, other than "One Step Forward" and JayDee's previous work on "Sweetheart of the Rodeo". Many of you may have known his father Ron Greenberg, who played bass in the LA country and bluegrass circuit in the 70's and 80's.
Good Times!

Very cool--I had to miss St. Louis this year but I am going to make it up to Copper Mountain for the show. Nice show--Poco is on before TDRB and the Dirt Band follows..

It was a thrill to meet Jay Dee and witness this reunion. He played his Emmons for both show. I'm going to put a full review up on the
myspace page.

I was really glad to have caught these guys! Great harmonies, superb musicianship, excellent songs. These guys are true ambassadors of the California country lineage. Lot's of good steel players in the audience to boot.

Wow, what a great show
Got to visit with Jay Dee for a while and watch his set from about 8 feet away in the wing. Killer vocals and great playing--hope they do it again...
Rusty sounded great, too--he can really make those harmonics sing on "Heart of the Night"...Richie sat in with them for one song.
Firefall and Pure Prairie League were also there...kind of a country rock summit...
Chris--the Dirt Band were long time Colorado residents in the 70's and 80's, but only Jimmy Ibottson still lives here (Aspen) and he has been out of the band for a while now...

I was very lucky to see Jay Dee backing up Kevin Nicks at the MidState Fair in August at Paso Robles. Big Jim Barron was nice enough to call me to tell the details of when he was playing. Jay Dee's
playing was fantastic. His tone and clarity made me want to burn my guitar. His comment to me was "...will I've been playing over 50 years. My thought was, if I played for 50 years I might be half way to where he's at.
Thanks Big Jim and Jay Dee for being so nice.

Hey Jay Dee, any talk of the possibility of the Desert Rose Band recording in the future (please?). Thank you all for the music over the years
Unbelievable - Jay Dee...

What great steel playing! One of my all-time favorite players...love his style and approach. While I'm at it, I still believe the Emmons p'p's -- for my taste -- is still the best steel tone! Great Jay Dee!!
