I've seen Todd Clinesmith's guitars up close and personal.

I've seen and heard Mike Neer play live.

This is a perfect match! 8)

Stunning. Looks like it would stay in tune for about 10 years. : )

How heavy is that thing (with case, without case)?

After playing my first gig with her, I will say that it has lived up to every expectation I had and more....it sounds like a Bigsby should and, dare I say, more. Sounds great clean with volume swells and sounds great with some overdrive. I'm not into total saturation, but with my Ghetto Stomp box it put me over the edge into sweet violin and cello territory, with a little reserve for getting some of that Lindley bite. When I played with a clean sound, I was reminded of Tom Morrell's tone: very clear on top and fat on the bottom, almost like the finest Rickenbacher tone. I'm so satisfied with this purchase, I can't speak highly enough of it. It is visibly stunning on stage, as well. Not one negative that I can nitpick over. I need to step up my own game, though--this guitar deserves nothing less.

The guitar weighs about 50 lbs in its case. It's not that heavy out of the case and it's got those sturdy handles on each end.

Thanks for the review. I was wondering what scale length the Clinesmith is. I looked on their site but it didn't mention it.

Thanks.

Mike, where will you be playing Sunday? I'll be in NYC for a long weekend and may be able to come by and see you.

David,
I won't be playing any steel gigs on Sunday, but tomorrow (Friday, 5/16) I'll be a Jalopy in Brooklyn on a bill with Wayne Hancock as part of the Jack Grace Band.

Ooops, I forgot--I won't be playing the Clinesmith at Jalopy.
