1) Sho-Bud Super Pro, Emmons P/P D10 (2), Zum D10 (2). Kind of like a group of actors that you choose from to fit different roles.
2) Nashville 400s - stereo. I like the older ones.
3) Lexicon MPX-1 or sometimes an old Ibanez DD1000 for real warmth but less headroom.
4) Goodrich L120 for fatbacks or a 120 for others.
5) Furman power conditioner
6) BJS bar - Hughey model, very nice.
7) Newman fingerpicks w/ Dunlop thumbpick
8. String brand? Varies, but nothing too bright.
9) Dirtbox? Tried more than a bunch of 'em. Still trying to find the one that I fall in love with.
10) It's a huge myth that nice equipment makes you a better player. It doesn't. At all.

Steve Alcott-
Interesting setup. I used to use a Clarus 1R amp with a Raezers Edge cabinet with a 15" speaker.
Is the setup you posted what you are using on your gigs? I live in NYC, and would love to hear you play someday. Send me an email to let me know when you're playing in NY sometime. I'd be interested to hear you. Thanks,
Mike

Chris Ivey, You're my kind of guy. I've got to keep em laughin so they won't notice how bad I play. Actually I learned a long time ago to control the booze. Too much makes you play bad, makes it hard to get home, makes it hard to remember if you had fun or not. Maybe just a couple to knock the dust off.

My setup changes from time to time - who knows when I finish fiddling with my Sho Bud U-12. But right now -
For PSG: Fessenden Black Mica D-10 (Tonealigners) or Zum Black Mica U-12 (Lawrence 912), raised 2-3" - into:
Sho Bud volume pedal - into:
Tube Fex (mostly using Tony Rankin's "Dickie Overbey" setting) - into:
GK Backline 600 300-watt bass head - into:
Homemade Thiele-Small ported speaker cab with one EVM-12L speaker.
Plus: BJS 10-string bar
GHS stainless steel strings
Fender clown barf M thumb pick
Traditional wrap (not-split) Pro Piks finger picks on 3 fingers index, middle, ring
Heavy-duty Dixon drum throne.
For 6-string guitar: Guitar du jour - into:
Pod 2 (mostly Deluxe Reverb patches) - into:
Effects Return of GK Backline 600 - into:
Same Thiele cabinet
Plus: SIT Power Wound strings or D'Addario Chromes (flatwounds)
Herco Gold flat pick (round wounds) or Dunlop 205 (flat wounds)
2 Dunlop .020 finger picks on middle, ring unless I'm in a rush, in which case I don't change the Pro Piks.
Oh, some days I'll bring along an old Fender tube amp, and some days I'll use a Nashville 112 instead of GK/Thiele-cab combination.
