Most of the new re-issue amps have circuit boards married to the tubes and don't hold up like the old ones.

Recently, I've switched from playing my stereo steel to a fender twin reverb that I had a local tech re-cap and tube which made a significant difference in sound and changed from twin 12's to a single 15 inch speaker. Granted the power this amp has isn't up to speed with the new amps but Duh! they weren't orginally set up that way, so say what you want, but they remain the best sounding amps for steel guitar. If you need more volume use the mains system in the PA, that's why they are there. Press On!!!!

Brett hope this isnt to off topic,,

I am a hardcore fender twin man for 6 string,,I hate solid state usually,,

but when it comes to a nash 112 or a steel king I prefer them for steel rather than tubes! You may want to borrow a steel king and try it out..
