Like Ben Jones, I'm a little intimidated by all the pro's who will be there. I'm sure I would be the only player there with a Rittenberry. Maybe that would be novelty enough. I have been playing out a little while, but situations like this always put the nerves to work. What do you thing, Larry?

Dennis,

I played my first jam after playing for maybe 3 months or so, and the positive feedback I got from the 'pros' was great to hear. I'm sure the 'pros' at this jam will be equally supportive. We all started from the same place, after all.

I'm going to try to make it this year. I'm also going to play in Portland tonight for anybody not working. I'll be at the Mississippi Studios tonight with the show starting at 7pm or so.

i'll be there a little late. didn't realize i had a gig that afternoon until my wife reminded me. be there 3:30 to 4:00. probably won't bring my steel but will bring a guitar. paul

Dennis set up if you feel like it, just pass on the songs you do not feel comfortable with.

Russ Rask from the Steel Guitar World Mag called me and said he was also coming down. Russ bring your guitar and play some lead and back up.

We will have a lot of players so come early, sit back and hear some of the best the northwest has to offer. For us this is as much about just getting together and visiting with others we may not have met or seen for a while.

With all of the Washington State guys and gals coming I guess I should wear pants, (I wear shorts 365 days a year) hee hee.

Intimidated? Me? Naw...I been practicing my windmills and I think Im ready for a cutting contest

plus now that I know Larry will be wearing pants, I aint scared no more.

I wont be playing a "Rittenberry" but I will be playin a guitar made by Mr. Rittenberry

It'll be nice to meet you Dennis and everyone else.

Larry & All

Would it be OK if I brought my new West Coast Steel (Double neck no pedals).
I am still not up to speed with the Sierra pedal steel yet.

I could still ruin your jam with simpler equipment!

If you have time I would like you to look at the Nashville 400 amp I bought used. Also could you bring your "pockets" CD and your C6 CD for me to purchase.

Tim by all means bring your gear and play, over the years we have had several non pedal players participate.

Yes I will take a look at your N400 and I will check out my video supply. I am working on making new CD versions of them but it takes time.

(Tim is a great dobro player branching out to the electric world.)

Energy is building, time is short (for me), so LET'S GETER DONE.

Ok Dan now we are talking, Chuck makes a mighty fine guitar and I would love to see the new Blues.

Maybe I could could split the difference and wear pedal pushers.

We have a few days to go and we are picking up speed on this one. I will take some pictures and post them.

Larry, if you know, approx. how long is the drive from the downtown Portland to the venue? How early before the kick-off time is early?

Twayn once you get to the I5 bridge it might bejust 15-20 minutes to the exit, depend on your speed.

Harley and I plan to be there about 11:30 or so, we like to get started at 1:00.

Great fun! I always enjoy playing with folks who are so much better on the instrument than I am.

I just want to say "thanks" to Larry and all the other players who showed up last Sunday. Though I've been playing music over 40 years, I'm new to the community of PSG. This jam was awesome! I was blown away!!
It was great to see a variety guitars, musical styles and amps!
The spirit of community, respect and encouragement among the players was evident.
Also... props to the band and the B bender guitar player... I just played mine at a church that morning, so it was great to actually see another B bcnder guitar.
Larry, again thanks for pulling this altogether!

I was amazed at how many good players there are out there. There sure were a lot of steel players there. I don't remember the names of those guys in front of me and to my right but I sure enjoyed their playing. IT was great to see Dan Tyack play a traditional ride on Way To Survive, it was PRICE less. I am here to tell you first hand that Eric West is a nice guy! Has a great looking Bud. Wish he'd cut off the wires but I would imagine he gets better reception that way.

Thanks Larry for being a gracious host to everyone and helping haul my eqip. in from the car.

Larry, Harley et al.....Many thanks for putting the jam together. I had a GREAT time. It was a perfect format.

It was great hearing the caliber of playing coming from the PDX old guard. Eric, Harley, Dale, Robin, Mark,Wes,Dave,Lynn and Russ all played their asses off and I was blown away by the guys I hadn't heard before including Wayne DeFranco and Dan Tyac.

Kindling Band were superb as always. (We do need to give those 6 string players some more solo time though). Bob Galiazzo's bending licks are phenomenal. (His playing is so slinky that we ought to confer Honorary Steel Player status on him). Ronnie's drums are always solid as Gibralter.

I had a great time and, as usual, came away feeling fortunate to be a part of such a wonderful community of great players. You all (esp. Ol' Harl) have been very supportive as I try to learn to make music on this humbling contraption. Thanks to all and especially the band!

I can only echo what's been said here. I had a great time playing and hearing so many great players. It was a real inspiration to hear all of you guys play. It was a long trek for us Seattle guys but it was worth it. It was nice to meet some of the people whose names we all know from the forum too.
I'd definitley come to this event again. Thanks for having us out of towners.

John, Ben, Dan, Wayne and Russ thank you all for comming to the jam it is good to get a little of that Washington state brotherhood drifting our way.

Once again we had about 20 or so steels set up and licks and chops were just flying. There were a lot of smiles on a lot of faces, that's what makes me feel good about the event.

I had a blast. It was the first time I played 'the Way to Survive' in 25 years, I can't believe I forgot the hook after the chime part....

Dan it was great to see and hear you again and your new Desert Rose sounded just great.

Dan tunes his E9 neck with an E on the bottom and puts the B on the 9th string. I tried this and within about two minutes was sold on it and never looked back.

Thanks Robin, Larry , Harley and Kindling for putting the jamboree together and inviting me to participate. It is a bit intimidating around such good players, but very rewarding. I hope whoever was taking the movies destroys the ones with all my mistakes (as if I needed any more pressure). It is fun to be a part of such a great group of people. I look forward to the next one.
