The problem is solved with three SPDT switches and three 5Kohm resistors.. I'l sketch out the wiring later in electronics, for those that are interested.

Well, Take for example the Jules Ah See version of 'Sand'..It requires B11th AND C6th to play the last phrase..AND the C chord at fret 1 on the B11 has notes added from the OPEN C6th neck whilst the B11th is still sounding.
I'm NOT explaining it very well, I know what I mean, I only wish I could cite more examples, but I think you'll get the "Gist" of it. !

it was exactly the workaround I was looking for, admittedly I did modify your suggestions somewhat.

I used centre OFF switches so that towards the bridge the neck was ON, in the centre it was (Guess) ........ OFF, and to the right it switched in a resistor (Dummy pick-up load) so that the guitar's volume would stay constant with one two or three necks selected.
With the unused switch in the off position I am getting the Full volume of each neck INDIVIDUALLY when selected.

I'm confused, if someone is an accomplished pedal steel player, why on earth would you want to play a guitar with three necks. Stick to the Fender 1000 Baz, less problems with all that pickup rubbish. Maybe I'll get banned on my first posting, but I must say I much prefer the sound of the pedal steel guitar any day.

Just to clarify one point, when Pat says "Pedal Steel" she means non-country pedal steel..
But Pat is right, I'm 'at home' on the Fender 1000 and the triple is just for nostalgia's sake,
PLUS
the challenge of trying to duplicate what the masters did on that type of guitar.. You can learn so much about tunings and technique when there is a limiting factor involved.

Whilst my Fender 1000 is an extension of MY mind, with it's thoughts and memories, the Stringmaster Triple is a conduit to the past masters minds !!

Of course I could ask HER why buy a Taylor 815CE-L6 when she's got a Hofner Jazzica, and half a dozen other guitars as well a 'Po Mahina' Uke.
But I won't criticise her 'GAS" ... we both have it !!

Baz, where is your homemade triple neck today?

This is cool seeing both of you on the forum! My mind drifts back to that humid afternoon in Kane'ohe when we all sat in the parlor while Baz gave me a primer on the Fender 1000, his personal tuning, various chord voicings, and substitutions... while I sat and nodded, pretending to keep up with him.

You clearly used "Premium GAS" on this "55" Stringmaster T8!! In a word, it's "Fantastic"!!! It could not have found a better home.

For what its worth and with a little trivia here: I spoke with Jody Carver awhile back about my "55" D8 with it's pushbutton neck selector switches and how it came to be.

When I used my "GAS" to procure it, my first reaction was that somebody modified it.

Jody revealed the pesky pushbutton neck selector idea was Mr. Leo Fender's.

Jody continued, that he expressed concerns (noise,logistics,etc) about this to Mr. Fender. But, Mr. Fender did the pushbutton thing, anyway.

Somewhat later, Mr.Fender realized Jody's concerns held true, and so he then went to the Blade neck selector.

Jody's recants of this story are better than mine, but there you have it, from the Knight of Fender Tweed hisself.

I especially look forward to your recordings with it. And with all due respect to you Sir, I'm glad you had "GAS". TX

Short, medium or longscale, Mk 1 or Mk 2 ?

Thanks for the reply, I play a Zum D10 so probably medium or long scale and I don't know the difference between Mk1 and 2. I have a S8 Supro tuned to E13 and I want to have a C6th neck . Having said that. I would consider any Fender or Gibson D8.
