Apparently the only way I can open up ezdrummer is by first, bring up a midi file, then I have to select the sequencer then I can get into ezdrummer.

It will not bring up ezdrummer any other way! I do have reaper, I may install that again, but I couldn't get ezdrummer to even load n reaper

I've got your msg copied and pasted. So I do have your instructions.

Thanks I'll bring it up again and try your instructions
as well, but don't think that willwork, I get a message that you have to bring up a midi file first and then select a sequencer screen

heres a youtube tutorial:

ezdrummer in Reaper tutorial(man , thats kinda complex compared to my DAW Tracktion3)
http://youtube.com/watch?v=4RahF9H-tNw

heres the ezdrummer forum, register and ask how to get set up in whatever DAW you are using.
http://www.toontrack.com/forum/tt.aspx?forumid=6

I dont have any of the DAWS you mentioned so i cant tell you exactly how to get setup...but you shouldnt even need midi files to get started...you can test just by opening the program, waiting for it to fully load, and clicking on the drums...do you hear a sound when you click on the snare?

Thanks Bill!!!!

Well Im getting closer. I had to switch to Reaper, couldn't figure out how to use Ezdrummer with Adobe Audition or my Acid at all. With Reaper, at least I can get the drums onto Reaper now and play but for the life of me I cannot get an audio track onto to then to play both ezdrummer and my audio file to play together.

Boy I am missing something very basic here someplace! But I've never been good with drum programs. There is one screen that it shows in youtube where the drums come up and you can edit it, be darned if I can get to that screen!

But I'm still working on it, not giving up just yet. I have record a simple thing that I've been playing for years and trying to get some drums in it. I recored rythem, keyboard, and lead but have yet to be able to figure out how to add some drums. Thats what I'm trying to do.

Thanks for getting me this far anyway! lololol

EZDrummer plays well with Garageband 4.1.1

I got around to installing iLife '08 version of Garageband (4) and it did not work correctly with EZ. However, after installing the GB 4.1.1 update EZ is working great. No more drag and drop issues and other major annoyances!

all you EZdrummer users...I am envious. I have had ezd for almost a month now. having all kinds of troubles getting it to work. it is installed correctly; verified by the mods on ToonTrack. but I cannot get ezd to appear on my VST list or anywhere.
toontrack tech support is working on the problem. no answers coming and they admit they are running out of fix ideas.
so far, I haven't had a chance to use any part of ezd.

it is very close to being written off (149 on sale)and going into the trash can.

Randy.

Have ya placed the plugin file (.dll)in the vst plugin folder?

Jani...I am aware of the need to palce ezd.dll in the VS%T plugin. the trouble I have is that ezd does not even show up . anywhere. nothing to click on, nothing to find.

I have just been contacted by the makers of ezd. they want me to hook uop with them via computer shre and get to the bottom.
finally.

Randy, is the program that you're using for audio/sequencing a cracked one or legit ?

Or better still, what program are you trying to get the vst to work with ?

eventually after many trys one of the creators of ezdrummer contacted me. we linked our computers and he was able to find where I loaded ezd. he reloaded everything properly. I am not sure what I did.
it all works fine now.
thanks for your concern.

So.. what do you think of it ?
I've been using it since its inception on many commercial albums..not once has a client asked "Are those sequenced Drums?", they've all presumed the drummer was human !! Well he is in a way..
